Zarina was standing stock still at the opened door, half tucked behind it as she stared up at the figure on their doorstep. She turned, her little face scrunched in confusion as she watched her father approach. “Papa,” She chirped in Russian as he scooped her up, nestling her onto his hip as she pointed a glitter-speckled hand up and out the door, “He says his name is Uncle Alexei.” Ilya felt the blood freeze in his veins. Slowly, so slowly he felt the world turn and age around him, Ilya let his eyes wander from his daughter’s perfect face to the man casting a shadow over his threshold. _ Some ghosts only haunt familiar halls. Others follow.

current biggest problem with writing from Azriel's POV:

when you're the strong, silent type, who literally keeps to the shadows and observes as his job description - you don't have a lot of dialogue. Or action.

My man is just standing in the background watching everything go down like a damn tennis match why did I do this to myself

Hi all!

A little PSA:

Seeing as Crescent City 3 comes out tomorrow and I have yet to even begin the series (I’ve been busy I knoww) I will be muting the tag as well as staying off socials until I have time myself to sit down and tackle the series. Likely over a week or two I have planned in Feb.

Just in case: Please do not tag me or send me asks about this book - ACOSAS as already canon divergent just from existing but I’d like to spare myself spoilers before I can read it.
