Emma Swan is a lonely orphan. Mr. Gold is a producer slash scientist who adopted her when she was only a few days old. Regina Mills is the reason Emma Swan finds out that the life she is just beginning is nothing but a TV Show (slash social experiment, if you believe Mr. Gold.)

Three things Emma Swan doesn't believe in: ghosts, family and true love. Three things Emma Swan does believe in: herself, her infallible superpower and coincidences. So when one week late in June, she finds a travel brochure for “the picturesque fairytale town of Storybrooke, Maine” in her mail on Monday, sees a newspaper ad for the Storybrooke country fair on Wednesday, and hears about an opening for the position as deputy sheriff of Storybrooke on Thursday, she believes it to be nothing but a coincidence.

Summary:

3 year-old Henry Swan-Mills wants to hear his favorite bedtime story about how his mothers fell in love. Emma is a ballet student at the American Ballet Academy hoping to get a spot within the American Ballet Company. Regina is a former principal ballerina with ABC who suffered a career ending injury which forces her into a faculty position at the Academy. The two of the clash within their first meeting and in Emma's year at the Academy but there is a fine line between love and hate.

I have not had the pleasure to watch Carnivále yet, but know that it is set at the same time and type of place. Any similarities will just make me happy to hear about and realize I really need to watch it finally.

Summary:

After returning from the past and the revelation of Marian at the diner, Emma attempts to apologize and forces a confrontation with Regina, which probably isn't the best idea. When she avoids quickly becoming incinerated by throwing ice at the resulting fireball, everyone seems to be surprised. Including Emma herself. But when winter comes early to Storybrooke with no end in sight to the snow, it's Emma who draws the blame.

Clearly, Regina must have put a curse on her. What other explanation could there be?

  This story largely began existing in my brain just after the airing of the season 3 finale, when Elsa's casting had not yet been announced. My brain therefore decided that the only logical candidate for Elsa- a blonde with a penchant for braids- was Jennifer Morrison. And this story was born. Keep that in mind.
