I saw your top moments reblog and I remembered what's probably my fave (and most heartbreaking) serious moment is when Leon's forced to shoot Benford. Just tore my heart right out. Also don't care what anyone says about RE6, but to me it was one of the best gamewise in showing character emotions. (Movies are different, though Vendetta was best for that, and Degeneration probably the worst.)
OH ABSOLUTELY
ABSOLUTELY
the whole moment is framed so damn well! Leon's shoulders are shaking, he's clearly upset, every single little detail about him screams of how much the moment is affecting him. he hopes so bad that he doesn't need to shoot Benford and at the same time he knows he needs to. he hasn't hesitated like this in forever. but he just can't bring himself to shoot him before he has to. and how he shouts "Adam" when he shoots??? breaks my heart every single damn time.
it's such an emotional moment, and it's made so well, I adore it so much. and it sets the mood for Leon's campaign so nicely.
I agree, for me RE6 brings out the characters' emotions very clearly. plus it keeps showing us bits of them along the way! like how Leon shuts down about shooting Adam although it clearly affects him so damn much, he just pushes it down, doesn't want to talk about it, because he has to focus on the mission. it's so easy to feel with the characters because their emotions are brought to the forefront with everything they do. and they're very expressive, too.
I genuinely do think RE6 did well with characterizations, and it did well in showing us how they feel. it's a way better game than some people give it credit for.
