The market was never a bad time, something that Darrius had learned years ago when he had moved to Merrock and experienced his first Christmas season; and then second, and then third, and so on and so forth, until he felt like he had been there his entire life, and not just a small fraction. But looking around, he had a feeling that many people felt the same way. And then there were local staples, like Mandy, and her gorgeous art work, which he was admiring at The Color Wine booth, smiling to himself before turning his smile to her when she was done talking to a potential customer. "I feel like you probably get this question a lot, but... do you paint dogs?"

WHERE: Flower Festival.

WHEN: May, 2022.

Life felt... different now. Since returning to Merrock a few years back, most of Livvy’s life had been tangled up in two things: work and her husband. And now that her husband was... well, that was in limbo, she found herself a bit lost as to what she was supposed to do. Bailey was living with him, the house was quiet, but she always had Mandy to spend time with. And thankfully, little sister had agreed to spend some time with big sister at the Flower Festival. Which was as good of an excuse as any for Livvy to pull on a floral dress, a big, floppy hat, some strappy sandals, and spend the day with the person she cared most about in the whole wide world... after feeding her, of course. “I figured you’d probably want to start with a snack before we dive into making pretty things or picking out flowers?” she was mostly teasing, but she did know her sister pretty well.
