Character Request!

Open Name, 31--39, actor, Matt Bomer, open group (probably household name or higher)

This is a request for Miranda Sinclair's husband.  Simply for the purposes of giving him a name in this request I'll call him Matt but you certainly don't have to call him that.

Matt and Miranda have been very good friends for a long time.  He could have been from a famous family like her, or gotten lucky on his own, that's up to you. 

As a teenager, he was a teenage heartthrob, and his fame (and ability to get cast) hinged nearly entirely on girls going to see any and every movie he was in because they were all deeply in love with him. 

Around the time when Miranda's father and stepmother went though a nasty divorce, a female tabloid reporter Matt had scorned at a party wrote a slanderous article claiming he was secretly gay.  Other tabloids got in on the rumors and his career took a nosedive.

Miranda and Matt got drunk together to sooth their wounds, and he confided in her that he was, in fact, gay, and terrified that it would destroy his career.  Miranda offered to pretend to be dating him to put the rumors to rest and pick his career back up. 

Several months later, Miranda went to a nightclub opening, didn't realize when someone spiked her drink, and woke up in a back room several hours later with no memory of the night.  She called Matt to come pick her up.  Matt was also the person she went to several weeks later, freaking out  when she found out she was pregnant.

The end product of many days worth of discussions was Matt suggesting that they get married and he claim paternity of her child.

Now they're Hollywood's Golden Couple, one of the few Hollywood marriages to last.

Their marriage works because they're fantastic partners, they're best friends.  They love each other unconditionally (just not romantically), and they're both incredibly supportive of the other's needs. 

Matt loves their child as if it was his own, and Miranda has been quoted as thinking that he's a better father than she is a mother. 

They're both aware that they don't/can't satisfy the other one's --ahem-- needs, and I figure they've worked out a policy about that between themselves.

They're also both acutely aware of how, if their secret was to get out, it would probably destroy both their careers, and their family.

He can still be just an actor, or he can have expanded to directing, producing, writing, whatever you want.

I am pretty set on Matt Bomer as his face, though if you really hate him and love the plot and want someone else, we can talk.

Miranda Sinclair: thirty-one, actress/producer/director, household name or hollywood darling?

The oldest child of the Sinclair family, Miranda started acting young, and she received critical acclaim for several films she did as a child and young teenager.

However, by the time she was fourteen, Miranda became more well-known for underage drinking, drug use, and partying. 

She was convinced to go to rehab voluntarily at fifteen, but checked herself out the following day.  She was sent back shortly thereafter after her stepmother found her unconscious in her bathroom after attempting suicide.

Sober, clean and back on track by sixteen, Miranda spent the rest of her teenage years trying to get her image back and to be looked at as more than just 'that child star who was fantastic then totally went cliche child star and went out of control.'  Sent a lot of scripts for roles as a troubled/rebellious teen, Miranda accepted only one such project and received several awards for it, though she admitted that getting back into 'that place' for the role almost made her relapse, and she donated her entire paycheck for the role to a charity for troubled teens.

At twenty, Miranda got pregnant and married her longtime best friend, also a popular actor, in what the tabloids publicized as a whirlwind romance that wouldn't last: neither of her parents' marriages had lasted, and he was best known for his romantic male lead roles and was frequently linked to different costars.

Marriage and motherhood ended up being good for Miranda--and for her husband--and they quickly became Hollywood's lovebirds, sweetheart couple, and every other label the tabloids could pin on them.  Praised in the media for her turnaround of her life, Miranda has since been considered the stable one of the big Sinclair family, and the tabloids and bloggers love to call her 'Mama Miranda' whenever she's pictured with her younger siblings.

In her career after her marriage, Miranda spent several years being known for her roles in romantic comedies and heart-wrenching dramas, until her late twenties when she announced that she wanted to give her family a more stable life and remain in one location, which was why she took the role in the television series Birds of Prey.  Filming in New York, Miranda was able to live at her own home throughout filming, and depending on each day's schedule, she was usually able to pick up her child from school, or do family dinners. 

Because of her own experiences as a troubled child star and teenager, Miranda has become very involved in speaking to teenagers about many of the troubles she went through.  She's been known to visit rehabilitation centers for youths, as well as group homes for troubled teens and children to speak with the residents.

Based in: New York (she and her husband have decided to base themselves in New York, though they do also have houses in Santa Monica and New Orleans)

Age: 31 (and fabulous)

Occupation: Actress, director, producer

Family: Miranda is the oldest child in the Sinclair family (more about them can be found here, because they're Lydia's fabulous brain child).  She's also been married for the past ten/eleven years, and these two seem to have one of the few marriages in Hollywood that's lasted.  The couple has a ten/eleven year old child, and may or may not have one other adopted child, as well.  (I'll be requesting the husband, so before I solidify the child(ren) situation, I want to see if someone's interested in taking the character, and if so, if they have a preference as to the child's gender, and if they want another adopted child.  I'll post more about the husband, and post the request, later, but if you're interested already let me know!)
