Mirnah: The Demon King

"Look... if... if I'm being honest, my starlight..." the white haired demon king said quietly, "I don't really know what love is... or what it's supposed to feel like.

They looked up, meeting your eyes, "but... it feels like the only word that can properly describe what happens every time I look at you. I know... I know you don't deserve to have some... some thing like me feeling like this about you, but... but you light up my world. You make me feel."

"Mirnah..." you murmured, a hand outstretched towards the demon's face. Gently, tenderly, you cupped his cheek in your hand and caressed their cheekbone with your thumb. "I... I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything, my starlight," they were quick to assure, even as they nuzzled their face into your hand. They looked at you with soft, honeyed eyes and a soft smile. "You don't even have to return my.... affections. I would never force them upon you, my Queen."

And yet the two of you had been married, bonded, for nearly two years now. It wasn't a marriage of choice, not with you being one of many human sacrifices and Mirnah being the feline-esque demon king of the Black Forest. But they had saved you from sure death by blood loss, sharing their blood with you in return as they cut you free from the ancient oak tree you were bound to in the process.

A villain they may have been to your former village, Mirnah was your personal hero. Your spouse.

"I know you wouldn't, my King," you murmured softly as you leaned in to press a kiss to their brow. "For, even as evil as the people claim you are, you are the kindest soul I have met by far. But that doesn't change the fact you do need a reply... and I will admit, I do not feel romantically towards you; I have never felt romantically towards anyone before. I think myself incapable of romantic feelings, if we are being honest. But—" you cut them off before they could open their mouth and begin to speak, a sad look upon their face— "but, I know that I know that I love you, too. You are my best friend, my closest confidant. I would happily fight for you, given the proper opportunity, Mirnah."

Softly, you smiled at him and pressed another kiss to their brow before pulling away. The demon king, for all that they were larger than life and as slender as willow tree, looked small as they knelt before you with their face within both of your hands now. "I do love you, my sweet. Now... tell me, how do you feel about cuddling? Would you like to share the sofa with me or shall we take to the bedchambers and cuddle there?"

There wasn't an ounce of hesitation before you were scooped up into their arms and cradled against the silver skinned demon king's chest like a precious treasure. "To our bedchambers, my Queen. I desire your warmth and sweet hands against my body."

You let out a quiet snort and shook your head. "You just want me to pet you, you silly fiend."

"For you? I will be a silly fiend," they replied as they began walking out of the parlor and towards their shared bedchambers. "It is not my fault you have magic hands."

"Silly fiend."

"Darling human."

"I adore you."

"I... I adore you too, starlight."
