nebby would also probably be entrusted to lillie because mirror!lillie has no issues with touching pokemon but mirror ash is…a little terrified of the prospect of being asked to take care of a completely new species of pokemon. so while he’s officially asked to take care of it, lillie sure has to help him through a lot of it, she does.

He would be, if only due to necessity! But unlike canon Ash he’s not very confident in his skills, so he’s more likely to take advantage of the fact that Kantonian seems to be a universal language and thusly there tends to be alternatives for him to use (much like how English tends to be most everywhere in our world). At the same time, he feels foolish for using those alternatives, so when he does speak, it’s heavily accented and quieter than usual (if that’s even possible).

I wonder how mirror Ash is doing

mirror ash isn’t entirely sure how to get his shiny kalos league trophy home without his mom downplaying him finally getting that victory, or somehow making that trophy vanish, too. but that’s become a secondary problem considering that mirror serena’s idea of a confession is apparently tsunderpunching him and making him accidentally trip and fall down an escalator.

Shouldn't Mirror Flare be a nice group of idealists who swore to make the world better by asking help from non-mega Evolution users because Megas are too destructive? Mirror Lysandre doesn't kidnap Mirror Ash but clumsily asks him to help bc his bond w/ Mirror Greninja doesn't lead to destruction since Mirror Greninja is too weak and Mirror Ash is too nice, it would be a nice example of harmony between people and Pokemons so it would help Mirror Flare to achieve their really pacifistic goals

well that’s also true. personally i like to think instead of lysandre not-quite-lying about using mega evolution energy to better the world (he is, but just not in the way that most people would consider sane), he actually is genuinely using mega evolution energy in peaceful ways rather than destructive ones. so mega evolution energy & ash-greninja are both still v. important to him n shit. 

also if u saw the last ask that i reblogged from @nihilistgirlfriend, you’ll see that we personally decided that mirror bond phenomenon is as strong as ever, it’s just fueled by mutual fear rather than mutual determination.

although that does beg the question: if mirror ash n greninja still get kidnapped For Great Science™, who does it? alain? sycamore? the denziens of the corrupt global syndicate known as the pokemon league? idefk.

is mirror world pokelantis king spirit actually genuinely a nice guy who got sealed away due to a misunderstanding?

did he offer to help timid mirror satoshi battle pyramid king jindai in thanks for letting him out and also since he genuinely wanted to help the kid out and that's why the poor boy got possessed in the first place? only satoshi figured it wasn't right of him in the end so he stopped the possession himself

did mirror satoshi vouch for nice king spirit enough that they finally released him permanently from the pokeball and he just kinda hangs around the battle pyramid now

did they get the regis or something to make him a host body so he just helps out at the battle pyramid and sometimes calls up mirror satoshi to act like the supportive father figure mirror sato can never remember because hey he's kinda proud of this kid that managed to try again and again until he won despite his timidity

bringing back mirrorworld shit and making me wanna vent about all these dumb little thoughts i had about how the mirror world might work and shit so here now that i actually have an audience who’d maybe want to hear that kind of stuff have a list of random headcanons about the mirror world and how shit might go down there because my heart

part of the reason satoshi leaves on a journey in the first place despite being such a coward is because life at home is Not Fun, with a mother who is unsupportive of every move he makes and berates him for never being able to live up to the legacy of his disappeared father and a professor who is dismissive at best to his fears. the only saving grace of the town is the professor’s friendly grandson who’s been keeping an eye out for him their whole lives, and so when shigeru leaves on a journey satoshi leaves as well. no matter how scary it is, it can’t be as scary as home, right?

“shigeru was here. satoshi, you can make it too! good luck!”

despite being a coward, satoshi is still very much a satoshi and is prone to impulsive risky actions if a pokemon is in danger, because what’s a satoshi who doesn’t absolutely love pokemon despite any apprehensions or fears or dangers? how else would he make it through his journey? satoshi, instead of giving other people courage like his canon counterpart, helps other people find their own courage instead because who doesn’t want to protect this poor child please someone keep him safe oh god love this child

satoshi is absolutely devastated when shigeru decides to be a professor and spends several weeks apologizing to the other boy for defeating him in the johto leauge. he never says that it’s because he’s afraid that becoming a professor will make shigeru distant and uncaring like his grandfather and for a while he’s reluctant to make contact because of that fear. when he finds out that’s absolutely not the case, however, he tries to make his transfers and communications through the grandson as much as possible, rather than the distant grandfather.

satoshi is incredibly sympathetic to hikari’s journey as well, and actually even pities her. after all, he might have an unsupportive, degrading mom, but that’s all she is, she’s not invested in his life or his career or anything and generally keeps him out of mind when he’s out of sight. hikari’s mother, on the other hand, is a full-on pageant mom, demanding only the best from her young rookie coordinator daughter and projecting intensely on all her daughter’s actions. he knows the feeling of never being able to be good enough for someone so closely connected to you no matter how hard you try and how difficult it is to have to face up to that, so hikari having a parent so intensely invested in her journey is a pressure that he’s never had to deal with but can understand all the same. so when hikari finishes a contest, no matter the result, satoshi is very invested in it, even moreso than his canon counterpart. because he knows exactly what hikari will have to face come next phone call.

in that same vein, he’s actually a little envious of hikari, too, because she was able (for a short time) to step away from that life directly under her mother’s gaze to work with pokemon fashion design and modeling. even if it was a small step away, it’s still a step further out of that haranguing shadow than satoshi thinks he’ll ever be able to take. he doesn’t think he can stop being a trainer and he’s not sure if he even wants to, so he’ll have to face his mother every time he comes home, successful or not.

satoshi absolutely latches onto shinji as a shigeru-substitute for a while. when shinji and shigeru meet, it’s only the fact that they’re such absolute nice people that keeps them from being envious in any way about satoshi’s attachment to the other, in fact, they’re both glad about how there’s at least another person like themselves that satoshi can depend on. they collaborate on little satoshi-confidence boosting projects sometimes.
