a misakano where one of them doesn't realise that the other thinks they're dating please I beg of you

Misaki and Kanon had been spending a lot of time together outside of the band recently

Misaki was glad; Kanon had started initiating most of their hang-out sessions, taking the pressure off Misaki who wasn’t as socially inclined, but still enjoyed her company

Kanon had been delighted when she had texted Misaki in a fit of loneliness, mentioning that she wished she had a girlfriend, and Misaki said that she would date her if Kanon wanted

But their dates were a bit... lacking. Kanon knew that Misaki was actually a bit shy towards her senior, so Kanon didn’t mind inviting her out and planning their dates, as long as Misaki didn’t mind navigating, which of course she didn’t

But Misaki hadn’t changed at all, she acted just like when they were just friends

Kanon wanted to move a little faster, but she was shy too, she didn’t want to initiate anything more than hugging when they left for their own homes at night

So she invites Misaki to their usual cafe where she feels most comfortable, and slowly builds up the courage to ask how Misaki feels about it

Misaki finishes her coffee and is going to get up and leave, when Kanon suddenly bursts out “Wait!”

Misaki stares at her, and Kanon, flustered, stutters out an explanation of why she’s been confused, because Misaki is still acting exactly the same as before they started dating, and it’s okay if she doesn’t actually like her in that way, but Kanon wants to progress in the relationship if Misaki wants it too

When she finishes, she takes her first good look at Misaki since she started rambling, to realize that she’s burning red. Kanon stares at her with wide eyes, waiting for her to respond

“... What?”

Kanon feels tears welling in her eyes, realizing that Misaki doesn’t really feel the same way. “M-Misaki... sorry...,” She says, jumping up and rushing past her to leave, but she doesn’t make it far before she hears Misaki yelling after her

Misaki intercepts her, catching up quickly, and out of breath asks her to repeat what she just said?

Kanon blinks hard, and says, “Sorry?” and Misaki shakes her head, “No, before that.”

Kanon apologizes again, saying she was stupid for assuming Misaki liked Kanon as much as Kanon liked her, saying they didn’t have to date, sorry for making everything awkward. She couldn’t help but starting to cry.

“K-Kanon! Hey, hey, don’t cry. The one who should be sorry is me!” Misaki says

Kanon looks at her, and Misaki hesitantly admits that she didn’t know they were actually dating, her text had been a joke, but not that she didn’t feel the same way! just that she didn’t think Kanon felt that way toward her

Misaki takes Kanon home, and it takes awhile for her to calm down after holding back everything she was feeling on the commute, but Misaki comforts her, wanting to laugh because she had wanted to hold her like this for so long, but she didn’t even know that they were dating

Later they laugh about it, and Kanon sometimes teases Misaki about how she’s part of the “Sanbaka” for not realizing what was so obvious, and Misaki apologizes for messing with Kanon’s feelings like that, even if it was unintentional
