The small spectre doesn’t seem at all perturbed that the other knew of her, though she is a bit curious how they figured out her name of all things. 

“Gee, that makes things a bit easier in the introduction department. Still, it’d be rude or whatever to not introduce myself, even if you already know who I am. Name’s Eris and I have my strings on Jerome, blah blah ect. Moving on.”

A hand moves to adjust her control bar.

“Corporeal, yes. I’m also tiny and rather susceptible to being hit with bats if you catch my meaning. I can’t just show myself to anyone. Besides, if anything, it’s your little bell-clad buddy that’s been the biggest roadblock. And, as a rule, I don’t normally play with others’ toys without permission.”

Jerome’s reaction to being pulled close is a bit delayed, a few seconds passing before he seems to realize what happened. After another moment or two, he closes his eyes, and a hand moves slowly to grasp onto Jester’s arm in an attempt to somewhat return the hug. A few shaky breaths are taken, and Jerome seems to gradually calm down, at least to the point of not smoking. His voice is still a bit shaky when he does speak up, and his voice is quiet.

“... S-sorry.”

[A laugh is heard from seemingly nowhere before a figure with the head of an owl appears just beside the displeased spectre. They float awhile before leaning back midair as their expression changes to an amused smile.] "Oh me oh my, getting all huffy won't do any good. Keep your head oh friend of mine, soon what you wish shall come along swiftly. All you need to do is pull the right string after all.~"

The spectre glances around wildly before identifying the source of the laughter, pausing to quietly process both the sudden appearance of another puppeteer and the wisdom they offer.

“Y’know, I think I’m gonna set aside my usual instinct to become scarce around strangers. You’re right and all, but the issue is getting around the strings I can’t pull. I’d rely on manipulation, but that would ruin the whole ‘not knowing he’s got strings’ thing, and that’s no fun. Also, less important, but who are you?”

Snakes: Would your muse ever keep an unusual/exotic pet?

{ That’s a big maybe depending on if we’re talking animals or ghouls. Either way, it’d have to be a pet that requires rather low maintenance. Jerome is a busy man most times, so a pet that requires a lot of attention may not be something he goes for, though that may be the kind of pet he needs. If Jerome did get some sort of exotic pet, it’s probably be something like a fish or bug of some kind. Ghoul-wise, I find it a bit unlikely seeing his previous encounters with them. However, he might consider something outside of his zone. Most likely an Arpagon if I had to choose. }

Hugo’s unblinking gaze flickers from Jester’s hands to his face a couple times before he seems to relax a bit. He hugs the piece of paper he was holding to his chest, the four thinner appendages on his sides receding into his robe through four small diamond-shaped holes. The boy opens his mouth to speak, coughing a few times before any words could be said. When he does speak, his voice is a bit hushed.

“I’m... Hugo. You’re not gonna tell Mama I’m out, are you...?”

[Despite his many visits to these zones, to visit a good friend of his, it never ceased to amaze him how turned around he could become. The zones were quite different from his own and currently, he had no idea where he was. The landmarks seemed familiar but the colors and structures were wrong. Maybe he should've taken a left instead of a right? Oh dear.. Upon spotting a figure laying on the ground, drawing from what he could tell, he began approaching them. Perhaps this person could help?]

It was one of the rare occasions that Hugo managed to sneak away from his room. He liked the air out here better, and it was nice to see something other than the walls of his room for once. He sits up once he finishes his newest drawing, leaning his back against the stairs he sat at the base of and holds the paper horizontally. 

After a second or two, the drawing seems to rise off of the paper, forming a small, horned ghost. Hugo watches the infernal spectre zoom away, it pausing briefly to bat at one of the bells on the lost visitor’s hat before going on it’s way. It’s that action that brings Hugo’s attention to Jester, and his eyes widen as he scrambles up a step in fear.
