Headcanons often speak of Kamukura's work being technically perfect yet devoid of emotion or particular direction, but I feel like that was also true of Hinata--I think he was a straight-A student who was good in every subject but had never really been directed by an interest he cared about for its own sake. Too committed to the grindset, knowing he's missing something, meant for something more, but never allowing himself the time and breathing room to figure out what.
your characters are cute as HECK by the way Iām really enjoying the comic so far !!! :):):)
thank you so much!!! :D
Which cat is the most superstitious?
This one is tricky for me to answer because quite a few cats have superstitious tendencies.
Slight is quite superstitious, but it mostly pertains to her beliefs as a mountain loner. If you didn't know about her beliefs you would probably just think she's kinda quirky, and seems like a bit of a hippie.
Blaze is probably the most stereotypically superstitious. He can be a bit of a nag, telling the others to be careful, not to touch on step on cracks in the ground, not to be out past a certain time, etc. This is mostly because he's very cautious and feels like he needs to take care of the others, so he tends to be extra careful, even with superstitions! "Better safe than sorry!"
She isn't in the 2025 run yet, but you can see when Dahlia shows up that she is definitely the most paranoid of all the cats. She is certain that any little thing is a bad omen. It's raining? "We're going to die!" A bird's feather lands near the territory? "It's a bad omen, we're doomed!" Basically anything out of the ordinary makes her on edge.
What are your Clan's death rituals?
We're actually going to get into this somewhat later in the comic, but it's gonna be a while before we get to it and it won't be the main focus so I'll talk about it here :)
When a cat dies, the clan gets together to share their favourite memories of the cat that passed, trying to remember all of the best parts of the passed cat, and then they bury them in a bespoke grave. The gravesite is just a small, bare field with soft earth near the mountainside they call home.
After the cat is buried, the cats all bring a stone to place upon the cat's grave, as a symbol that the cat will always stay tethered to the clan and the place they called home. Afterwards, the entire clan holds a silent vigil for a day, avoiding any activity that could be considered "fun." (This is very much to the chagrin of every kitten that has to sit vigil!) They also tend to fast and keep silent during the entire day.
After the day of silence is complete, the clan returns to normalcy, but cats are free to visit the gravesite and place more stones upon the grave from then on. It's also the duty of the medicine cats to continually return to the gravesite and tidy, and mourning cats will often accompany them for the task.

Where do people get the idea that Komaeda was uniquely passive among the Remnants of Despair, or that he adopted the ideology in a meaningfully different way thanks to his allegiance to hope?
As a Remnant in DR2, his ideology is clearly shown to be in tatters. He keeps contradicting himself, and honestly it feels like any attachment to āhopeā he may have had is only strengthening the warping effect of despair on his mind, not weakening it. And in UDG, while heās never directly violent, heās a dangerous puppetmaster. The Remnants were supposedly able to blend in well enough to be taken in by the Future Foundation, so itās not like all of them were mindless killing machines except Komaeda! They all retained their original selves enough to carry out despairās will, however they mightāve had to justify it. And they all lost themselves, too, in the process. This is all to say, I donāt think Komaeda was a āspecial caseā. He, like everyone else, became someone that was utterly repulsive to his Chapter 4 self.
I arbitrarily dislike portrayals where Kamukuraās able to smile in any normal or natural way. I think he would have very atypical modes of expression even when heās as happy or satisfied as possible. And Iām also kind of a fan of the idea of even postgame Hinata realizing he still canāt smile unless itās a conscious decision. (Or maybe he was that way even before the project, hidden under years of masking. Yay.)
While Iām at it, I think Komaedaās sort of the oppositeāalmost no control of his face. It makes whatever expression it will, all on its own, and it tends not to be quite appropriate for the situation either!
