Lance Reddick, star of John Wick, The Wire, and Fringe, has died at age 60
Posted to Flickr way back in 2011. The poster, mister frothee, says:
A set of five miniature wind-up characters from yet another off the air HBO series, "The Wire". They're each about 2.5 inches tall, and have weird proportions due to the small motors they contain. From Left to right: Jimmy McNulty, Bunk Moreland, Bubbles, Omar Little, and Kima Greggs. I'd be lying if I said I was really happy with the Kima sculpt - but since I was going for a "Happy Meal" toy aesthetic, I can live with it.
Not for sale - I just made the one set as a present.
“five deep breaths” - short film directed by Seith Mann which David Simon says is where Bob Colesberry found Jamie Hector who would play Marlo Stanfield on The Wire.
Simon on Hector playing Marlo:
It's been a singular act of gorgeous restraint to play Marlo Stanfield. The film we found him in, we found him in a short film by Seith Mann, and that's how we found Seith Mann, called "Five Deep Breaths." Bob (Colesberry) noticed him right away, noticed the direction and Jamie as the lead, and he's the presumptive hero of that piece, the kid with heart and the kid with a conscience and we cast him as Marlo Stanfield! Right away we knew his range. It wasn't a surprise to us. We knew what he could do. But part of that character required a willful restraint, and the only place where it made sense for him to lose control was in that precise moment.

HI YOU'RE GREAT THANKS FOR EXISTING
(chuckles.) I don’t deserve your praise, but I appreciate it.
Is it Crem or Krem?
Chief calls me Krem. How he decided on the spelling is beyond me, but it’s stuck with me.
So, what are the other Chargers like while drunk?
Hmm…That depends. They can act sober while drunk. If we’re talking falling flat on their face, no one has ever been too drunk beyond return lately, but there was this one time.
Chief ends up slurring a bit more, still loves to talk. Skinner has a bit more aggression when speaking, but is a bit more relaxed. Rocky, Stitches, and Grim get all red in the face but Grim is rather silent - more so than usual. It’s like looking at a vein of red lyrium with those three. Then there’s Dalish. Dalish is…well, alarmingly normal. For the most part, they’re all a bunch of happy drunks.
This wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full time sociopath is going to be our next president.
This is a great wake-up call for Hillary-hating liberals like me.

Has everybody seen this already? Probably, but here it is.
