It wasn’t much to look at, but Jack thought the display was rather cute. The cake made special, the little owl sitting next to it and a CD of someone he was certain Echo liked just enough that he could announce another gift not displayed. 

“You and I are going to a concert first weekend of April. ” Jack smiled, arms crossed over his chest. “ As a Birthday treat from me to you. I won’t take no for an answer - and I promise you a seafood place of your choice before we attend.” he seemed proud of what he managed to come up with for her birthday. 

“ Though tonight, cake and all the Western movies you can stand to binge on. Happy Birthday, Echo!”

           DOING HER ROUNDS, the waitress walked up from behind the blonde haired man, smiling down at him as she stood beside his table. ‘ How was everything ? ’ Although she had imagined doing a different job at a restaurant, always had dreamed of being the one standing in the kitchen, making people happy with her cooking, it was quite alright what she was doing. Seeing the satisfied faces of the costumers she served made somehow up for it.

   Some people think that fire and ice are meant to combat one another. What they don’t realize is that combined they both can make something very beautiful.

It was certainly a surprise to get a gift from Jack, but the necklace was beautiful and Skye fully intended on wearing it often. Now to be that person and get Jack a late Christmas present.

      I could not have done without your friendship and kind heart. In this dark world you truly shine brighter than any star across the sky, and even more so than the sun itself. You are a wonderful woman who deserves a wonderful Christmas. Not only that, but wonderful days in all.

     Jack just didn’t realize that he would be subject to the hours it took to watch the Westerns he’d gifted to Echo. If there was one thing that could get her mind off of work, it was old classic Westerns. The smile wouldn’t leave her face as she placed the DVDs with her collection and went to find a home for the glass flower and ornament. Both would stay out all year ‘round.

            ❝You know vat funny is? I don’t even like gingerbread, but I love making zem.❞  Hanne said as she put a sheet of baking paper on table, preparing the templates for the house. If she was honest, they were too good to eat. With all the effort to make them look perfect, it seemed such a waste to her. To her Christmas had a different meaning. She didn’t care about cookies and hot chocolate. To her it was a time of inspiration. ❝My mother alvays complained about ze details I came up with, saying gingerbread isn’t a canvas and we’re going to eat it anyway. But ze best thing about Christmas to me was to let out all ze creativity I had.❞
