Nancy bit her lip a little and looked up. “Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I don’t even know where to begin really. My brother knows more about it than I do. But then he’s more into that sort of thing.”

“i just don’t know what i did wrong.” the blonde spoke as thick, salty tears streaked down her cheeks. “i just don’t fucking get it. i took him back, told him it was his last chance and he goes and cheats again? like, again?” she shook her head, reaching for the bottle of wine that stood there and instead of pouring it in the glass she pulled the cork off and took a sip straight from the bottle. “and part of me is truly considering going back to him again.. it’s like he’s the only one that’ll ever love me. that’s what he said, y’know? he said he’s the only one that could put up with me.”

lilou knows she shouldn’t talk to people like she already knows them-- she knows it’s disconcerting at best, and downright weird at best. still when she sees them walking down the street it’s hard to keep her vision to herself. “oh-- you might not want to stop for that coffee-- it’ll make you late. and you really--need to be at that meeting, right? get one after-- from the little indie coffee place across town.” and that’s way too much detail. “happy halloween!”

Maggie looked over and raised an eyebrow. “Just explain it once more. Because I can’t have anyone else being distrustful. I think that’s the last thing that anyone wants.”

They’d felt kind of tense all evening. Even when cuddling watching the TV, Nora could feel something was going on in their body. The movie they’d been watching came to an end so she turned around slowly. “Hey,” Nora said gently before brushing their hair behind their ear. “Are you okay?” There was a warm smile on her face. “But I'm getting better at admitting when I'm wrong” she lied with a smile as she continued to walk up the street, Effy in tow. There was no way that Maddy was getting better at admitting she was wrong, but realizing to leave things when they were no longer good for her was something she was perfecting. For now she was okay with lying to herself and seeing if Effy would believe her.

“This is ridiculous, wake me up when something exciting happens,” she’s only teasing but to some that may not have been so obvious with the slight scowl on her face, which was there purely for show, but Alma was bored and in her defense, often became as much very easily. The brunette slumped back against the sofa and rested her legs out long against the cushions while she propped a pillow up behind her head to get more comfortable, fully playing on the fact she had said she was going to sleep.
