the day was finally here. mal was moving into her new dorm at auradon university and she was as excited as one could be. well, as excited as one could be considering their mother had just been locked up for attempting to overthrow the king of auradon. it was a wonder mal hadn't been expelled just for her association to her mom, but here she was. she was almost certain her father had something to do with it — not that they spoke often.
she'd been nervous about meeting her new roommate and now the day had come. she'd overpacked, but found that as she brought her things up to her room ( with the help of a little magic ), the rooms seemed a little larger than she thought they'd be; from the hallway, at least. she was just barely to her room.
when she got to her room, 511, she was gifted with a face she hadn't seen in a while, and her neutral expression turned upward into a smile as she used her magic to guide her things to the open side of the room. ❝ evie? you're my roommate? i can't believe this! did you know? i had no clue. oh, this just made so many things so much better. ❞ she's relieved when she realizes it means she doesn't have to deal with someone getting used to the idea of her being the daughter of the woman who tried to take the throne. with evie, she could just be. she was thankful for that.
