"It must be pretty safe here if you're able to be an 'open book'." He flipped the scrap-aluminum charm in one hand like a coin. "I'll start searching for a job tomorrow. If it's going to be hard, I should start as soon as possible, right?"
He wondered if he could ask if Timothy had any suggestions on where to start, but his wariness at asking for help, even in such a minor way, made it so the question did not leave his thoughts. "It's just a skill I picked up to pass the time...Ha, I guess that's the definition of a hobby."
"Doubt it would help me get a job." Misha examined the carved crow for a moment, then offered it to his companion. "Want it?"
He didn't think it was polite to call collecting anything a 'rich man's hobby', despite how much he felt it was one. He'd never had enough extra space in his scuffed up duffle bag to carry anything without usefulness. The only sentimental things he held onto were things he could wear and that still gave him a weight limit for his sentimentality.
That and the people he used to work for were often collectors of something or other. It had just become interconnected in his mind as a testament to wealth. Like golfing. But if he was the one who had started this place, he was at least doing some good with it. So Misha thought it best not to say anything that might be seen as rude.
"What do you do for work?" Not being sentimental meant he tried to avoid people and the connections that came along with them. But Timothy had brought him food, and he didn't mind the young man's company, and while Misha's skills did not lie in small talk, he didn't always hate the presence of other people.
