The voice in the back of her head was getting more and more prominent by the day. Each day, Larisa would find it hard to hear the things around her, all the sounds and voices being drowned out by the chilling screams pounding against the inside of her skull. It was difficult to hold back the urge to pull someone into some private location to take the entirety of their life energy. It was difficult to stop herself from ‘accidentally’ brushing her hand against someone as she walked by. If that wasn’t hard enough on its own, she also had her academics to deal with, all of which she had been neglecting as of late. Her brain couldn’t focus on anything.
To get her mind in order, Larisa had decided to skip her classes for the day, not caring that she was getting quite close to failing yet another course solely based on her attendance record. Her feet had set off in a direction away from the school in hopes of not running into people who would recognize her from there. This wasn’t high school, but she was still paranoid of being seen by people who were quick to spread rumors or make the existing ones worse. Besides, walking outside amongst strangers meant she could easily pick up some life energy from them. Although, the amount she would pick up passively was hardly beneficial for her while she was in this state. She’d have to injure somebody to get that voice to shut up.
Just as she was making her way to a café she hadn’t been to in awhile, the redhead felt a particular odd presence approach. She had noticed this one before—the sense that someone possessed a whole lot of life energy, as if he carried a lot more than the typical hundred years expected of a human life. Before she realized it, her footsteps had become faster, breaking into a run to catch the person who possessed such a tempting amount of energy to sustain herself with. If she could grab that person—
Hand outstretched, her fingers reached out to grab hold of the man’s jacket, stopping him in his tracks while she caught her breath from the unexpected exercise (she... really was not in shape). As she regained her barings, Larisa couldn’t help but scold herself internally, questioning herself as to why she showcased her desperation so openly. This was not ideal. There was no way she could even explain why she approached him. But if she had just reached for his hand rather than the sleeve of his jacket...
Upon catching her breath, Larisa lifted her head, eyes taking in the stranger’s appearance. Dark hair, brown-colored eyes, significantly taller than herself, someone young-looking, a man with a refined and intriguing aura... ah, so this is the man who possessed such infinite-seeming life energy. Her head was pounding, the voice screaming so loud she could hardly think now. Still, it would be best to figure out a means to running into this person more in the future, ❝ You, what’s your name? ❞
