He's remained hidden in the home for hours. Far too long, but all too worth it. The timing was perfect, he had watched them for weeks now, waiting for an opportunity like this. He's nearly salivating, practically tasting his victory-- this is all he's ever wanted, after all. It's revenge, and by no means is it served cold. No, he wants it served fast, with as much damage as possible in the little amount of time he has. He knows if he's going to get this done, he has only so long before he's on the run again.
” I've waited far too
long for this. " —
Suddenly, the door creaks open. He can hear running footsteps, and he knows it's damn near time. Oh, he's absolutely elated, a crazy grin spreading across his face. The second the little Jessica Smith speeds in front of him, he grabs her by her hair, relishing in her screams.
” I pull her close, and
hold her at
gunpoint.. " —
She screams for her mother and father, who come running almost immediately. Neither knows just what to do at first-- they zero in on the gun. Evelyn Smith screams, but then she meets his eye.
She knows. He grins.
” It's helplessness
that he wants
her to feel--
Little Jessica was
never going
to make it out
of this alive. " —
Leaning down, he whispers for her to 'Say goodbye to your parents.', and the child's last word is 'Papa--'
And then she's gone far sooner than she should be.
Evelyn ends up in hysterics, and a high-pitched laugh escapes him-- Yes, that's what he wants, for her to feel that pain.
He turns his attention to Mr. Smith, gun aimed perfectly at his shoulder. He intends to wound him, to take him down, to make her watch him die. When she screams that he's insane is when his finger nearly slips--
Footsteps. These don't belong here.
Eyes snapping open, Will remained still for a long moment, before ever so slowly turning his gaze towards the woman standing in the doorway. His brows furrow, and the profiler adjusts his glasses. ( Will Graham. 7:52 p.m., West Minster, Maryland... He's himself, not this deranged killer Thomas Monroe. )
— ” Ma'am, I'm gonna have to
advise you to stay
outside. “
( They were going soft, just letting her in like that... )
