Should you enter a pageant

I am home from the Miss BC Pageant. What a ride. Probably I should unpack all of that in a separate post, but here are the highlights:

I didn’t win a title.

I did get a nasty stomach flu.

I still loved the experience.

I thought I would be disappointed to not win a title, and in reality, I am. But I’m not surprised. A few hours into the pageant, I saw women in my category who were flat out better…

Yet another reason to be in a pageant... my thoughts on "life is a pageant."

The countdown to the pageant is on. I’m less than a month away and time is flying past. Have I prepped enough? Done enough? Learned enough?

The simple answer is that if I woke up tomorrow and had to go on stage, I’m ready. I am as prepped on the basics as I can be. But that doesn’t mean I can coast on my laurels until pageant day. Having basic prep is not the same as feeling like I have done…

My natural pageant face

My natural pageant face

When I entered the Miss BC Pageant, I was drawn to how wonderful it is that the women in the pageant can be their natural selves. There is no limit on weight, no height restrictions, no bathing suit competition, and you aren’t asked if you are a natural born female. This is truly a personal growth pageant that asks the question: are you a leader?
