Maybe she planned it this way. Maybe it's her way of sending love, support, and guidance. Sometimes, my voice is not my own - I know it's her's. Her messages, passion, and vision are being pushed through me. Today, I teach my first class of my second year at San Francisco State University - one of the Community Organizing sections offered by the Health Education Department. Today would have also been granny's 88th birthday. This is a picture of her, along with me, my sister, and cousin Chanel. We were in her sanctuary, her school house - being nourished by her lessons and love. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. When she crosses my mind, sometimes I'm sad, angry that she is not here - but always extremely thankful for the blessing she is. Granny, I miss you dearly. I pray you are at peace. I love you for eternity. #MissingGranny
