Update 5
So I'm sure you all have noticed this account has been pretty inactive for a few months now? Way to long, and there's a good reason. Basically, life have thrown me through the wringer for awhile.
7 months ago I moved out of an abusive household, and around the same time broke up with someone, which was a toxic relationship.
Then, a few months in I had all of my data corrupted. Not only did Iose all sprites for Mission, but also the music. Oh, and the data for other games, projects, artwork, important photos and other data I've saved for the last 8 years or so. It was utterly devastating.
I needed a break from everything so I could just focus on life, and let the wounds heal. I'm completely over my ex, I'm settling into a new home and getting my life together, and the loss of all that data doesn't sting anymore.
What does this mean for Mission? Is it cancelled?
Simple answer, no. I still have the drive to make this a reality, even if it's far back in my mind and not at the forefront. But recently, I've been coming around to working on this again. But since I lost everything, I've had to ask myself if I want to remake literally years worth of sprite work, or do something else.
I've elected to just make this a normal comic, drawn by myself. It's not what I wanted to do at first when I started this AU, but after years of almost nothing, and then when the ball finally gets rolling, it all gets destroyed, I want to start fresh.
I've improved as an artist when it comes to my digital art, and I want this story to just be REAL already. If you're frustrated that this AU hasn't gotten anywhere, trust me, I feel the same way. Which is why I just wanna draw it out, simple as that. Honestly, I feel like I can draw faster than I do sprite work. So I think this is possible.
No idea if the first page will come out this year, but I'm aiming for that at least. We'll see how it goes. But even despite everything that's happened, I don't want to give up on this project. I hope you'll continue to stick around for the long haul and see this through.
