Maybe I missed the explanation, but was one given as to why Lorelai & Luke didn't get married after a 10yrs of a healthy relationship + over 7yrs of being in each others lives? I can't recall them opposing marriage just that they're "good as married"
in the solo-lorelai therapy scene lorelai says because she just doesn’t “do things like her mother” which i can see as being part of the reason why lorelai wouldn’t, but in my personal interpretation, i feel like it’s a conversation they just have approached because they are happy and they are stable, permanent, and happy.
much like with the baby stuff, i think that neither of them brought it up because they thought that if the other person wanted it that they would have brought it up. but i also feel throughout all of these eps, it was kind of bubbling under the surface, with emily saying lorelai doesn’t understand because she’s not married and the subtle digs at it. all of this was building and lorelai was feeling the pressure of that and everything else in her life so saw i saw the ultimate decision to get married as sort of the ‘never or now’ theme that led lorelai to go hiking in the first place and wow sorry this got away from me…
