“Come little children I’ll take thee away…”
———–
Isrieal stands there still and silent, only turning her head to follow with her eyes as he begins to walk past her. Those eyes with that eerie light behind them. She let’s him get ahead some but she quietly follows until they are away from the groups of people.
“I’m not here to sell anything, Denzel.” Her voice whispers. She obviously knows who he is. “I believe you are special. That you could potentially help many others.” She smiles a strange, soft smile. “You see…I’m from a facility with the most advanced technology and equipment. There are many things that we work on there. Many things that you might be able to help us with…”
She reaches her pale hand out towards him. “I’m Isrieal. I would love it if you would allow me to show you. Besides that, we have top medical research and healthcare. Have you been to a proper doctor lately? I am sure Cloud would appreciate for you to not only have care, but the finest care the city could offer. All for free, because you are special to us.” Her serpents tongue coats her words like silver promises.
The child paused in his steps as he heard his name, not to mention Clouds. The smile she was giving him was rather nice, but the other information she’s told him didn’t make him feel comfortable. “I’m not interested in going anywhere except for home right now.” he explained, stepping backward to place some distance between them. “And my Geostigma’s gone. Cloud healed me so I don’t really need a doctor.” All the illness was in the past, special appointments, rest, Denzel didn’t need any of that anymore. He could enjoy the freedom of knowing that he wouldn’t wake up in pain anymore like he had for the past two or three years. “Thanks for the offer though and it was nice to meet you.”
The boy turned and continued on his way, eventually making it back to Seventh Heaven. For the rest of the night, Denzel didn’t think much of the incident and figured that this Isrieal was some sort of peddler who was just passing through. Hopefully, he wouldn’t see her again. Ever.
The night quickly shifted into morning and soon another school day would begin.
“Fwuuah!” A yawn was emitted as Denzel left early for school the next morning, “It’s too early for school...” he mumbled as he placed his hands behind his head giving them a good stretch. “Why can’t it start later in the morning like on snow days and things like that?” A bird flying in the air caused him to smile. At least there were things to look at as he walked which was better than nothing at all. “Oof!” He should have watched where he was going. “Sorry about that, I wasn’t...” he explained quickly as he stood up to dust himself off. However, when he looked up the boy would be in for quite the surprise. “You? Again? I already told you yesterday that Cloud and I don’t want anything. Look, I’m...glad that you think I'm special but we don’t need anything. Really!”
