This past holiday has me wondering: how do Frankie, River, Dio, and Tim feel about and celebrate Valentine's Day?

(and now I'm thinking about a double date with all of them.😍)

omfg a DOUBLE DATE??? they would all be so sappy omfg

ok ok i think river/frankie are probably the easiest ones to answer for. frankie is absolutely making river's favorite (vegetarian) meal and going all out. he wants to treat them like royalty (as he feels they deserve). river, on the other hand, would probably enjoy this valentine's day more than any others. before committing to frankie, they probably would've hooked up a couple of times or called and old flame they were still on good terms with. and usually they're the ones doing the pampering, so with frankie they know it's futile to argue, so they just enjoy themselves and make sure frankie gets his present later. after dinner 😌

tim and shane are a little different. dio has indifferent to negative feelings about valentine's day and probably wants nothing to do with it. probably says something about it not even being a real holiday like that's some new opinion and tim just rolls his eyes and chuckles. but then, tim comes home late from work (because he absolutely had to work) with like, a single rose and maybe shane's favorite energy drink and the kid is fucking melting. ignores all his negative opinions about it and swiftly gets to his knees to thank tim properly~

now i'm thinking about a double date scenario omfg it would probably be river telling frankie "hey, remember that kid i mentioned that went to jail for stabbing someone? well, he never actually did it and he's free. he's back in town, we should meet up with him" and frankie is skeptical at first because why do u know someone like this babe

but then dio shows up with tim and frankie and tim have this like, silent understanding and they end up having a good meal lol

It's good to hear from you, J. I hope things are going well for you. Right now I'm working on a Prospect/Harvest Moon 64 crossover fic where Ezra enters into a marriage of convenience to help a farmer fulfill the requirements to buy her family's land back from the space corp, Natsume. I've been working on the idea for years and it's been really fun to work out how the gameplay mechanics could transfer to "real life." Thanks so much for the offer of a moodboard! Thanks for the ask! Titles are the hardest part of writing, I think, but writing from a title isn't much easier either.

For Handspun, I'm thinking a double entendre for handspun yarn (duh!) and fingering (also duh!). Frankie and Bonnie came to mind, her getting into spinning yarn and needing a hand from Frankie, then getting a hand from Frankie, if you know what I mean...

Mentally Prepared is a Javi G pov story about him getting ready for something very dangerous and illegal. Like, he's a mob boss for real and he's fixing to murder someone. And in the end, all he's preparing himself for is asking you out. He is so fucking nervous he could puke. You say yes, of course.

I was reminded of the gag reels that are included on tv show's DVDs, and now I'm thinking about the one for Midnight Alley. Maybe there's a quick shot of Dieter and Snaps before an intimate scene. They're discussing how they'll be moving and for how long until changing positions, etc. He's checking in with her, asking if his hand placements -here- and -just there- are ok with her. He's got mischief in his eyes because he knows that a) she's ok with it and b) she's very ticklish in those spots. But he's a considerate coworker so he's asking-- whoops his fingers slip and you're laughing louder than you thought and oops, there mics are on, sorry sound tech! The clip only catches a few seconds, but it's your fav in the reel.

Ohhhhh this feeds directly into Dieter's love of the tease. Like he knows there's a spot on Snaps' ribs that is super ticklish (he found it when she squirmed away from him when he was kissing it) and she's been a little tired and worn out from all the takes and all it takes is a little brush and her face is scrunching up. She shrieks and wiggles away, but not before beaming that smile he's crazy about. And when everyone on set either looks at each other knowingly or rolls their eyes, you all know it's getting a little bit too obvious that they're more than coworkers (gasp! they were coworkers)

And if it ends up in the blooper reel, I think it's Dieter's favorite too. Besides that one time Isaac skidded in dog shit on a take and had to be bleeped for about twenty seconds.
