Literally, if someone gave me 40 free hours, boundless energy, and set me loose with a label maker and a drawer full of catalogue cards, they’d be organized via the almighty Library of Congress Classification System 

It’s a shame I don’t have more space. I’d wager I have at least three more boxes of books sitting in the garage

Never As We Plan

Gray stood in front of his vanity mirror, dressed in only a pair of suit pants as he examined his body. He was freshly showered and clean. He looked fine, at least to him. But how far did he need to go? 

The Lizard toyed with a strand of his hair, scrutinizing his reflection like he could silently interrogate himself. He wasn’t an unattractive man. But on a night that was supposed to be special, how much extra effort did he have to put into his appearance? Carefully, he twisted open a jar of hair gel he had bought earlier that day and dipped the pads of his middle fingers into the styling material. Rubbing it over his fingers first, he ran it through his hair, just enough to give it body. First he slicked it back. Then he pulled it back forward. Then he ruffled his hair until the gel stuck it in unruly spikes. Oh, good lord. That was not appealing.

What on earth is getting into me...? he thought as he abandoned his hair to button up a silk shirt. Kendra had been in the tower for a little while now. They’d seen pretty much all there was to see of each other. But still, this was their first official date. Why was he nervous? The idea that this would also be his first official date ever tickled at the back of his mind. Perhaps the unknown was more nerve wracking than the casual flings and nothing relationships of his past. After all, lovers went on dates. It’s a bit more serious than a woman you’re friends with and enjoyed the company of...in multiple senses of the phrase. 

Gray rolled up his sleeves to his elbows and looked back in the mirror, chuckling at the spiky mess that was still his hair. He was being silly. He should just be happy he finally gets to spend some alone time with Kendra. And hopefully she’ll be just as eager to see him. Gray ran his fingers back through his hair,  slicking it back a little, but keeping it relaxed. Special, but casual~ Then he strapped himself down with a small armory of hidden weapons. You never know.

Ready at last, Gray made his way down to the grand foyer of the Clover Tower where he and Kendra said they’s meet, a slim, flat box in his hand. Still a few minutes early, he leaned against a wall and waited for his date. His first date. The Lizard spun the box between his fingers absently as he waited for Kendra a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he allowed himself to be a little excited. They had the whole “night” ahead of them and he fully intended to take advantage of every tick.

Sarah didn’t know what to think. Her jaw was on the floor as she stared into the crack in the door. The door to his room was open and she had to peak in. But she didn’t expect him to be that gorgeous. He was supposed to be so elusive but here she was, staring at him in awe. 

Sarah was supposed to bring him food which she almost dropped on the floor. Sarah had no idea how long she could look at him, but for the moment, she just wanted to stare at him. Sarah didn’t give a shit that she was a maid and this was the guy she was working for. In this moment, she was just looking at him in the moonlight.

Kaeda’s tail, white and fluffy and puffed out, flicked back and forth as he narrowed his eye at him. “Oh I would believe you. I can smell them. How I suppose is more my question.”

“What can I say? I’m a very, very loved individual. I mean, can’t you tell by my charming good looks?~”

Kyle stared down at the prince from the foot of his bed where the prince had barricaded himself under a pile of blankets. One hand was on either hip and Kyle was trying not to laugh. “No, I’m just your long-suffering servant who can and will get an earful if you don’t roll out of bed. Come on. I made you food. Are you actually going to make me spoon feed you?”

William pokes his head out from his blanket fort, the mention of food catching his attention immediately and everything else bouncing off him. “I can feed myself thank you very much, but as soon as I’m done I’m staying in here. No one can or will make me leave, period.” Yes prince indeed, and a stubborn one at that.

25. Superhero AU 

Sarah knew what she was doing. She knew this building, she had been in it many, many times. But this was the first time she had been here at night. Sarah had her comm off so it wouldn’t scare her if Luka called. Sarah made it to her destination in a timely manner. 

The job was pretty simple, retrieve back some tech that got stolen and then bring it back to Luka and Delilah to make sure it wasn’t tampered or messed with. 

Sarah’s mask was staying on just fine, due to what she was doing. Sarah found the room she was supposed to be in. Now to check for motion sensors. Sarah made a quick check by phasing and there were a few. 

Phasing through them was simple, childs play even. The tech was right there, just in her reach. Sarah did get it, and placed it in the pouch on her suit. Now to get out of here, fast. Which was what she did best.
