  “I don’t control my line.” Maybe he had some sway over Blackheart, but his Grandson -Ky’lar-? Not so much. “I’ll not interfear with your business,  but... another member of my family may not share the same agreement.”

"Were you always a furball? Or did some turn you, deary?"

  “were you always this curious or is this something you’ve perfected over the years?” in other words, remus wasn’t going to answer - not directly at least.

he didn’t think it was strange. sure, he tried to limit being around anyone, but there were times he actually enjoyed being around other people. these just happened to be two very low level demons that  could barely form  a sentence together.    “that a problem?” he asked, eyebrow lifting. “not like many people like me these days.”

"Tsk! Children today! Too many friends! All I want to do is get some half-breed dolt to sign her name in the book of the beast per the dark lord's wishes, but I fear her mortal attachments are getting in the way a bit too much."

The owl’s head tiled for several moments at her words. She was at least right, but a half-breed was not the same as a pure blood of either side. They would present specific challenges that no other would. Not exactly welcomed in  either world, but attempting to find a place in both. It was curious... very curious. Even to him.        “Shall I destroy these attachments?” It wouldn’t be hard. A little word here or there - maybe a few deaths. “Or do you have other plans in mind?”

     Of course it would be her. If it was anyone else, maybe Grant wouldn’t be so on edge. However, given their history (even if what he got his hands on wasn’t entirely accurate), he as right to do so. He may not have been  the Doctor, but he’d been playing as the Time Lord for months - might as well put on the face of the role full time then (at least until someone  found out the truth).        “I always knew you were one for dramatics, but really? Did you have to tie my hands here?” Not that his hands were actually tied physically - just close enough it given his options. “Or is this another elaborate plan to destroy everything I hold dear  - how many times did that work?”

Well, this was an unpleasant surprise. You’d think that being in the middle of nowhere would facilitate a complete lack of worry over such things, most demons seeming to prefer the crowded metropolises that were havens of sin and abounding with victims aplenty. Here, out on Route 66 that was a short stop between the major cities? But hey, maybe she wouldn’t even be discerned amid the others she’d been lathered in human odor for so long. With a receptionist’s smile did Svetlana greet the woman at th crummy counter in an even crummier lobby barely larger than a doctor’s waiting room, folding her hands behind her back. 

“Welcome to the Roadide Motel, ma’am. Did you have a reservation? If you book two nights on Orbitz you get 10% off your next stay.”

There. Cheesier than nachos at the drive-in.

“Then why don’t you go tear someone’s apart? You know, preferably not my own.”

Of course it had to be his luck that someone would bother him when he was having a bad day. It wasn’t like there was anyone else (above, below, or otherwise) to bother. It just had to be him. “--- if it includes a drink? Yes, you can.”
