Remember summer belongs to you
When Isabella said she would give anything if he can watch the beautiful sunset with her Phineas did was about to give up and then Isabella said you are not going to enjoy the beautiful sunset what’s that about I mean that’s what she wanted right?
I mean. She nearly says it herself in that scene. “That’s not the Phineas Flynn I fell [in love with].”
She likes the idea of romance but not at the cost of Phineas’ happiness + who he is. It’s not the action itself, it’s what the action MEANS in this context. Phineas sitting and watching the sunset is an admission of defeat; conceding his worldview was wrong. His boundless optimism and ability to do the impossible was such a huge part of who he is- what she liked about him.
It’s just that it took until it actually happened for her to realize that it felt wrong.
