this is just funnier in the context of the past two days tbh
who cooks normally?: They're both pretty atrocious at it (like, terrifyingly bad) so days when they're not crazy busy usually see them making out on Louis's sofa while they wait for their Thai food delivery.
how often do they fight?: A whole fucking lot. This is Nathan and Louis we're talking about--they're too close in age and they're too similar personality-wise not to get on each other's nerves. The good thing is that the makeup sex is always unbelievably, world-endingly hot.
what do they do when they’re away from each other?: Since it happens so often with their schedules, they like to think that they're okay with it. But their bandmates are far from blind, and Jay always pulls Nath into his side and mutters little smiling quips about his sassy little fuck of a boy toy still being there when he gets home. Harry always drapes himself over Louis like he's the one that needs the cuddles, because it's much easier to pretend that's the case then it is to make Louis admit to being sick over missing his boyfriend.
nicknames for each other?: Nath rubbed off on Louis simply by virtue of spending time with Nathan's bandmates, something that he never would have expected to happen even a year before, considering their rocky history. He likes to call him Sid, too, when he's feeling particularly teasing. Nathan goes for darling, when he's not pinching the life out of Louis for comparing him to a cartoon sloth.
who is more likely to pay for dinner?: Louis is older, he says, so that gives him more of a reason to pay for dinner. It doesn't make any sense to Nathan either, but he lets him have it.
who steals the covers at night?: A lot of the time, neither of them do. They're usually kicked to the bottom of the bed, because they end up curled into each other and that's warm enough.
what would they get each other for gifts?: They're both huge Man U fans, so Christmas usually has one or the other of them getting footie tickets. Nathan also knows how much Louis loves festivals, so he tries to take him to V Fest every year if he has time off, and Leeds, and he's trying to figure out whether he could swing a good week away so that he could take Lou to Coachella next year. Louis buys Nathan a new snapback in every city the boys visit, so that by the time a 1D tour is over Nathan has stacks of them in the rarely-used guest room of his apartment.
who kissed who first?: Nathan kissed Louis first. He wasn't actually sure yet whether or not it was wanted, and neither was Louis--which is why he pushed Nathan away so quick.
who made the first move?: Nathan did, again. He could see that things had changed between them, that the touches to Louis's neck and the grins across the room at awards shows were warm and sweet and tempted to be something else. And he decided backstage at one of these shows that maybe it should be something else, so he asked Louis out. Max told him it was going to be a trainwreck. He was wrong.
who remembers things?: Louis remembers everything so well that it's eerie. Maybe it's having to be the oldest of five (twice in a row) but for some reason whenever Louis reminds him of Siva's sister's birthday it catches Nathan completely off-guard. And it hits him in the chest like a well-landed punch just how much he adores these things about Louis.
who started the relationship?:Louis was the one who said they should make it official. He's the older of them, and he was always aware of what dating Nathan was going to mean--a lot of media scrutiny and a lot of rumors and a lot of bullshit. But Nathan's worth it. He's been worth it.
who cusses more?: Nathan, probably--bad habit he picked up from Jay.
what would they do if the other one was hurt?: Louis, for all of their good and bad history, would be completely unwavering. He's not someone to run away from stress--he pulls himself into it, actually--and this is no different. Nathan would realize, if he hadn't yet, that Louis is so, so important to him, and that he's just as close to leaving his side as he is to never singing again.
