Mistresses US

I binged it over the last 3-4 weeks. (I finished it on Monday but didn’t have the time to post till now. I know, I say I don’t have time for this and that… but I had a few bad days over the holidays and one weekend when watching TV was the best I could do, so that happened.)

I had started it because I’d suspected what would happen on Station 19 to pre-emptively assuage my feels. Which was a good foresight on my part as I wasn’t wrong; it definitely helped a little. All you need to know is Brett Tucker is in all four seasons (with a good amount of screen time), his character is great and he doesn’t die.

It’s a female-lead show, and the 4 (later 3) ladies and their shenanigans are intriguing, there’s plenty of suspense and scheming – I’d say it’s a chick-flick show, maybe a la Desperate Housewives?

I don’t know if it would have held my interest had I watched it as it aired (though I did watch the whole of DH when it was on) – or if it aired now, but binging worked out well for me – which can’t be said for every show, either, so that says something.

There is one major character death in the penultimate episode and two minor not-really cliff-hangers, but more like ‘hooks’ for the fifth season (which they didn’t get) at the end but nothing terrible, and it overall ends on a good note for everyone.

So. Just putting this out here in case anyone is bored at any point and looking for something to kill time with that doesn’t murder your feels to let you all know this exists and it isn’t bad.

Listen I need to watch literally anything Jes Macallan had ever been in I've known about her for literally a few weeks and am already in love

Yeah go watch Mistresses, she actually is in the lesbian storyline in that - it doesn't last very long and representation of it isn't wonderful, but no gays die (hooray) and she's literally gorgeous in it, so that's one to go for.

Also the Hallmark movie that she's in is pretty rubbish but she raises it so much when it comes to that, literally she's the best actor in it by far

I did go through her imdb page like the weirdo that I am and watch the stuff she's in that I could find and GOD I am in love too anon I can't even
