Grateful for your help with Morgen 🙏🏽 I was unsure about why he would date Mitch in secret if he was that nice, but I guess I figured it out. I GUESS. Once again, let me hear your thoughts about it cuz I have no idea what I’m doing lol
Morgen met Mitch when they were hanging out with Yami and Nacht, trying to convince them not to do bad things. It never worked cuz Mitch wasn’t insistent, but Morgen was happy to know someone else was trying to help Nacht to be better. At first he talked to Mitch only to say thanks for their efforts, asking about their magic, how they were helping people (Mitch was pretty vague about how the process worked), and then invited them to join the Magic Knights. Mitch refused and didn’t explain why (they didn’t want to because they thought the Silvas would recognize them).
Still, when Morgen would come to hang out with Yami (as they were in the same squad), he talked with Mitch a lot, appreciating how they were similar. He couldn’t understand why they didn’t want to be a Magic Knight, but he was glad they wanted to help people just like him, doing it in that secretive way of theirs. Mitch were happy too as Morgen was super nice and respectful to them. It didn’t take much for them to like each other in a deeper way.
As Mitch didn’t want to be seen, they were dating in secret. Morgen didn’t insist to make the relationship official because it seemed Mitch truly preferred to be hiding and Morgen thought they could show the relationship once they joined the Magic Knights (he had hope it would be soon). It’s not like he wanted to hide it, he wanted to let everyone know who was the person he loved, but there wasn’t any reason to insist because Mitch asked for it and he wanted to respect it. It had to be enough to hang out with them as friends in public, and be a lovey dove in private, because Mitch asked for it and didn’t seem to mind it!
But Mitch minded a lot 😭 they didn’t want to say anything because they knew it wouldn’t make sense at all. How could they want to hide and be seen at the same time?? Like, they wanted people to see them, but they knew the logical thing to do was be hidden, for everyone’s sake. It would be better for them, cuz the Silvas wouldn’t find them, and it would be better for Morgen, cuz their reputation wouldn’t be threatened (Mitch was fearful someone would recognize them and bring back their past self as a Silva, and get Morgen in a mess too).
So Mitch was kinda hoping Morgen would ask not to keep the relationship private, but at the same time didn’t know what they would answer if he asked it, so they were also glad he didn’t do it. They loved Morgen, Morgen loved them, but they would get sad sometimes because of it. Morgen would ask what happened and they’d just brush it off because they were also annoyed at themselves for making it a big deal.
Result? Mitch don’t communicate at all, stay moody/bitter without an apparent reason, and Morgen thinks it’s everything okay because Mitch don’t speak!!!! Because they assume they are a burden, because they assume nobody could fully love them, because that’s what happened when they lived with the Silvas. They are used to be hidden, to be avoided, to walk on eggshells, to guess what they should or not say. They don’t understand the concept of communication because they never had the chance to try it 😭 AND THAT’S WHAT MESS UP 99% OF THEIR LIFE.
