the moment you and mitsui/miyagi became a thing he just became the cockiest person in the world . like, genuinely . it was really cute and endearing at first but eventually everyone's just pissed at him t-t
even more so when he's at practice ... all of a sudden he's extra energetic and his form is beyond perfect (not that akagi's complaining; if you get them to play well then that's all for the better)
he knows that you like to draw —its even one of the reason why he likes you so much ! — and the moment he found out that you drew him during his practices ... oh my god, ego to the roof !! /pos
mitsui flashes you a devilish grin, his eyes gazing upon the quick sketches you've made of his form. "i look great," he states. he winks as he walks back towards the ring, aiming for a three-pointer. "make sure to get my good side, yeah?"
look, mitsui's all cocky and arrogant when he's in front of the others (much to their chagrin), but in private — that's a whole different story . he's consistently sending kogure and akagi photos of your art, pretty much showing them off !!
and he makes sure to thank you for all of your efforts ; he'll buy you all the art supplies you want ! (and he'll try to draw you as well, but he's not the best at it ... )
miyagi is speechless when you show him your sketchbook. across the pages are drawings of him, each pose dynamic and vivacious. he could practically feel the energy radiating from your sketches. "this is amazing," he murmurs, heart-eyed. he looks up at you. "you're amazing."
much like mitsui, he'll show your art off — but he'll show it off to everyone. the basketball team, ayako, his classmates, his family- you name it !

akira sendoh . . .
"woahh!" sendoh exclaims, his eyes alight with glee when you show him your sketchbook. he takes it in his hands, holding it as if it was the most precious thing to exist. he traces the outline of his sketched-out form with a delicate finger, his grin spreading ear-to-ear. he looks at you with crinkled eyes, his smile as bright and warm as summer sun. "these are really good ! maybe you should teach me how to draw !"
sendoh is all smiles when he saw your drawings of him . he can't help it ! believe it or not, he's seen fanart of himself alongside the countless fanmail he's received, but never before has he had someone draw him so ..
he can't describe it, really . but all he knows is that it's the best art he's ever seen ! your art was warm, each pencil stroke filled with love and care, your affection for him reflected tenderly in the careful way you drew his features.
like with mitsui and miyagi, he'll gladly show off your art to the basketball team ! and before you know it, you'll have a line of the team members asking for you to draw them as well .
shinichi maki . . .
maki stares at the compilation of sketches in his hand. admittedly, he had felt a bit downhearted when he saw that you've been drawing during their practices, feeling as if you haven't been paying him attention, but he couldn't have been more wrong. he caresses the paper with a gentle hand, then pulls you in for an embrace. "thank you, my darling," he murmurs, his breath warm against your ear. "these are wonderful."
a gentleman through and through, maki makes sure to show his affections after receiving such a gift (even if you didn't mean it to be a gift in the first place) .
he starts giving back, taking you out on art dates and offering to buy you any art supply you want . even if you ask for just a simple pencil, he'll ensure that you get only the best quality !
unlike the other three, he'd want to keep your art of him for his eyes only . not that he's not proud of it or anything, but he just prefers for your art of him to be seen by only him ... not that it works (kiyota would find a way to snatch them from him when he's not working lmao)

AND THE GOLD MEDAL FOR THE MOST JEALOUS BOY GOES TO SAKURAGI HANAMICHI🥇
We can see it through the story how he acts towards Rukawa only because he knows Haruko has a crush on him
But in Haruko's case, we still have a configuration that is favorable for him because Rukawa and Haruko don't talk.
Now imagine when he falls for you and he finds out that you have a guy as a friend.
One guy would be his death, imagine more than one.
So, in the beggining, he's really loud, always wanting to call your attention, and has a lot of confidence crisis when he sees you laughing while talking to another guy;
I can clearly see him hitting this guy with his head when you're not around and saying "Stay away from [y/n]-chan!"
So you HAVE to help him. Talk to him and be very clear about how you feel about him. That he is important to you, a precious friend;
As you two get closer, his confidence grows and he stops being so loud about other guys around you.
When you two finally get together, he has a relapse because he's reeeeally afraid to lose you. Again, be patient and talk to him.
He's extremely protective towards you when guys are around: that's the "healthy" portrait of his jealousy;

And the SILVER MEDAL in our jealousy podium goes to Miyagi🥈
We can see it on the show when the guys from Mitsui's gang start talking about Ayako he just FREAKS OUT and start beating Mitsui up. And when he thinks Sakuragi is going out with Ayako;
So we can see than he stays calm and relax IF there's no guy around you with second intentions;
So yes, just as Sakuragi, he has problems with your male friends, specially in the crush phase;
So, it's important to talk to him clearly about your feelings or he'll keep having this jelousy attacks;
Miyagi would probably talk to the guys that shows interest on you, saying calmly (at first) to stay away from you;
He can definetly get into a fight because of jealousy;
His confidence grows when you two get closer (faster than Sakuragi's) and he stops being so openly jealous of you;
When you get together, Miyagi's confidence finally reaches a good level and he stops having random jealousy attacks. He only will have it if its an obvious situation that can cause him jelousy;
Mitsui Hisashi
Aaaaand last but not least, the bronze medal in our jelousy podium goes for Mitsui Hisashi! 🥉
Mitsui is not loud as Sakuragi or Miyagi. He knows that having openly jealousy attacks makes him look immature. So if he feels jealous about you, he doesn't show it in an obvious way;
So the first thing that happens when the guy that's making him feel jealous of you is around is: he STARES. He stares at the person to death. ME. DE. KOROSU.
In the crush phase, Mitsui will stare at him in away that's impossible not to notice. He won't say a word: the aggressiveness in his eyes would talk by itself;
Than, Mitsui will make everything to be next to you, having your attention, when this guy shows up. He won't let him talk to you alone when he's around;
He can even suddenly offer to walk you home if he finds this guy talking to you after class;
When you two get together, Mitsui is quicker to solve the jealousy situations. If a guy gets too close to you in a way he doesn't like, he immediatly goes to where you are and passes one arm around your shoulder or waist and interrupts the conversation asking about a date or where you two are going to have lunch;
If the guy keep pushing, Mitsui directly talks to him, and let you know that he doesn't like him.

Hanamichi Sakuragi 🌸
He'd be the most likely to start one, but is the least likely to actually win one. That's all you need to know.
I can imagine the Shohoku basketball team sitting down to watch a movie at someone's house and Sakuragi just .. throwing a pillow at someone out of nowhere.
(Someone being a certain ace player named Kaede Rukawa-)
He'd start the messiest and most chaotic pillow fight of the century and yet he's the one who gets whacked the most. (╥﹏╥)
He'd also get sick of getting whacked after awhile and will absolutely headbutt anyone who tries to do so again -
^^ It failed and he still gets walloped over the head anyways -
If Haruko were to be present, Sakuragi would fight tooth and nail to ensure that she doesn't get hit by anyone ... not that anyone would want to hit Haruko anyways .. (insert Akagi side-eyeing anyone who even dares to do so)
Ryota Miyagi ⚡
He'd side first with Sakuragi and would join in just for shits and giggles, but after a while he'd turn on Sakuragi and just go crazy with it.
Eventually he'd start to go after everyone and anyone. Except maybe Haruko because y'know. Akagi's scary when he's pissed.
Same as with Sakuragi, if Ayako were to be there he'd try to protect her from getting clobbered, but if anything Ayako would be the one clobbering him --
Somehow it's pretty hard to get a hit on him because he's running and jumping from place to place like lightning (winkwink)
And honestly, Ryota wouldn't let anyone hit him except for Ayako LMAO
Kaede Rukawa 💤
He'd be sleeping when the Great Pillow War commenced, but after being waken up with a couple of whacks by a certain hot-tempered redhead delinquent .. oh boy.
Rukawa is sitting straight up, glaring daggers at Sakuragi and clenching the pillow as hard as he can.
Tunnel vision on Sakuragi. Rukawa's seeing red and he's making a beeline for the so-called genius and no one is stopping him .
I imagine that someone else would be smacking him with a pillow and he just waves them away like a fly and just keeps on attacking Sakuragi (╥﹏╥)
Hisashi Mitsui 🦷
He'd get really pissy at first but when he decides to retaliate, he does it hard .
Like, I'm talking "cackling as he repeatedly smashes his pillow onto Kogure's head" type of hard. Either that or he turns on all the other members and just starts attacking everyone within a ten-mile radius.

Being the mediator of the team, he'd step in and try to break everyone apart before injuries start happening ,,

Eventually he's just lost in the chaos and he's laughing and smiling and having fun and he loves it .

The one who actually stops the fight . Well, for like a split-second, anyways.
Then Sakuragi's stray pillow hits him full in the face and the next thing everyone knows the Great Pillow War has recommenced with the ferocity and the chaos magnified tenfold !!
Also the one that won the War. Bow before the great Gorilla King.

May I please get Headcanons for what Mitsui's reaction would be when a usually quiet & shy girl leaves a letter for him in his locker; telling him that she really admired him as a person and basketball player and how she had always thought he was really handsome, but the only thing she missed about him being a bully was his long hair lol. She also says he should be proud of how far he's come and to keep up the great work? Tysm either way!

Mitsui Hisashi
As we know, Mitsui loves to be recognized and noticed. So this letter literally takes him to heaven.
He kindda starts freaking out as he reads the letter, but there are many people next to him. So he has to act like nothing special was going on. He can’t lose his pose.
Specially because Akagi and Sakuragi are around.
At first, he’s so proud of himself and feels like he could do anything in the world - and just because you said all that stuff in the letter.
He blushes when he gets to the “you’re handsome” part.
He blushes even more when you talk about his hair.
“Maybe I can consider letting it grow again...”
When he gets to the final part of the letter, he finally figures out how much you’ve payed attention on him... And how much you cared about him. Mitsui doesn’t know much people that truly cares about him, so he’s super moved.
He feels a sudden and soft affection for you. He’s so thankful that you took your time to wrote that letter for him. A letter that made him feel so good and confident.
It’s almost a crime that he didn’t notice you before.
Suddenly, Mitsui feels a strong will to run and thank you personally AND to run to the court and practice three times more.
He can’t let you down after that letter.
He knows who you are. And he knows you’re shy and quiet. So it’s better if he meets you in a quiet place so you wouldn’t be embarrassed. He waits for the right moment to make the approach.
He’s super nervous.
Nobody on the team can know about that. It’d be a hell for him and for you.
But he has to do it.
When he finally gets to talk to you, he’s so nervous that all the dialogues that he rehearsed mentally run away. So he stands there looking to your feet.
You’re super nervous too, so you just wait him to say something.
He ends up kindda panicking, but let a true and deep “thank you” out of his lips.
“Thank you... Thank you a lot for that letter... It meant a lot to me. Being noticed as... y-you noticed me... I-s always g-good. I truly don’t know h-how to thank you properly but... May you come and watch our practice tomorrow? I can buy you an ice-cream after.”
Bonus:
Mitsui frames your letter and put it in his bed table. He reads it when he’s feeling down or insecure.
