when i was 15 yrs old, there was this well respected woman, who was psychologist and was specialized to children / teens. she went from school to school to give lectures about one thing and another (can’t really remember), but i do remember how the whole school had to go to gym hall at school to listen lecture about puberty. the woman kept on telling and showing this timeline where were written on at what age children & teens show interest / have a crush on. at some point of a very young age children wants to marry their parent when they grow up, and they have a crush on their playmate at the kindergarten, and so on and so on.
i cant remember much about it, but one thing got stuck into my mind from it. there was somewhere in that timeline, a point where one might have a crush on / fall in love to a cartoon character, fictional character or famous person, and she said that if the person can’t get over it, they are stuck at the children’s level at their mental growth. she kept telling how its wrong, and it really left me and many others feel stupid. this is one of the reason why it still makes me feel like an idiot for liking a fictional character.
