Suddenly overcome by the absolutely normal human desire to eat and re-energize via Energon Cubes, as sometimes happens to ANYbody home alone on a fine Wednesday evening with the pets while a thunderstorm downpours outside, especially when you could be brainstorming dinner ideas with what's in the fridge to whip up before your S.O. is off shift on a late work night.
Of course, you could whip up some basic sugar cubes with food coloring and call it a day, but you remember that one person who made gummy energon cubes to share at TFCon... but then, you don't eat gelatin and so you can't do the jello base, and besides it's not in the house and it's thunderstorming outside, so how are you going to get the right consistency?
Then! You remember buying xantham gum (everyone's favorite go-to soluable fiber) a couple years ago for a savory baking recipe that...kinda worked... and it's just been sitting unused in your pantry with the cornstarch and baking soda because it PROBABLY doesn't have an expiration date, and it also probably does the same general thing.
So, you give it a shot! The worst that can happen is that it doesn't gel and you end up with puddles of goop that stain surfaces they touch!
