[ trigger warning: murder ]
kihyun is rarely sent out for missions like tonight’s since vanguard has way better hitman in the group and very rarely do they actually call upon kihyun to go off someone. by himself, no less. regardless, he’s been given the job so he will complete it like he does all his other missions; to the absolute best of his ability.
it’s the dead of the night and it’s quiet, almost too quiet. kihyun punched in the code that had been briefed to him and the door opened up smoothly, no creaks, no dings, just silence. kihyun felt wary though he knew there’s no reason for him to be; his target lives alone with no other living thing in the house, it would be natural for there to be no sound, that’s accurate and safe. there’s nothing to be wary about. despite telling himself so, kihyun drew his gun and padded silently to the bedroom, envisioning the print of the house he saw earlier in the night as he located the bedroom. the door is shut; accurate and safe.
with his gun barrel pointing into the room just in case he needed to empty a bullet or two, kihyun turned the doorknob and pushed the door open swiftly but quietly to not wake his target; if he could do this without any struggle, that’ll be the best since it is always easier to kill someone when they’re vulnerable, when they don’t see you coming, a bullet square in the forehead and kihyun’s job is done. it is safe to say he didn’t expect what he actually saw when the door opened.
there his target was, lying with his throat slit clean open on his bed, already sleeping eternally, never to wake. however, it was not at the hands of kihyun. no, there was another person around kihyun’s height standing by the bedside. kihyun kept his gun up just in case the other living person in the room was hostile but made no moves; he stood at the entrance and watched the other. what the hell is happening?
