Kissing the Corona Virus by M.J. Edwards
I have seen people talking about this book everywhere. So I looked it up on Amazon, read the authors blurb, and I only read this because a good friend of mine asked me to read and review it. This really shouldn’t be called a book, it took me less than 15 minutes to read. It’s more of a gross fan-fic that belongs lost somewhere on page 193846 of the inter-webs. I truly try to not say anything “mean” or “rude”, and I try to maintain a constructively critical view... But this “book” is really just a weird sexual fantasy, involving the Coronavirus (like literally- first as a test tube then as a man...) which I am still trying to figure out. The writing was over-the-top, and it is obvious the intent was to just write the most raunchy, grossest erotica... and that’s what this is. Do I feel smarter for reading this? Nope. Am I slightly embarrassed to have actually read this? Kind of. Would I recommend this to a friend? Not now, not ever. Making light of a virus that has done so much damage... and turning it into a sexual fantasy is weird and insensitive. There were some phrases in the book that were pretty offensive. I don’t know how this poor-penned “erotica” even made it to publication. But the title and ridiculous cover have been screenshots all over the internet, so clearly people are at least (in the moment) discussing this thing. Read and reviewed.
