"I owe you my life, darling!" the dread pirate captain of the Negotiator, Obi-Wan Kenobi, regains his precarious balance and shouts over his shoulder. Though his voice is lost to the wind, it isn't swept away so soon that his lovely husband doesn't hear him. Said husband, better known as imperial deserter and best shot over the nine seas, Cody Fett, rolls his eyes. "You owe me more than that!" he returns with equal volume. He fires off a series of shots from his beloved flintlock and watches as his targets from the imperial ship across the short sea fall one by one. He has a hand wrapped around the net of the crow's nest as he uses it to maneuver around incoming attacks, reloading his pistol in the process. Obi-Wan finds it quite hard to look away from the lovely distraction that's his thighs. "Stop talking and focus before you actually get yourself killed." Obi-Wan purses his lips and sidesteps a cannon ball as the hunk of metal hurtles through the air between them. "I have everything under control--" "Is that why you almost got shot?" Cody's eyes are wild. "Look out!" The man moves quickly and aims his flintlock. Knowing what's coming, Obi-Wan ducks as the bullet whizzes over his head and into the chest of the man audacious enough to try and approach Captain Obi-Wan Kenobi from behind. He doesn't even have to watch the body fall down to the main deck. He's sure his crew is paying enough attention to dodge the poor souls that think they have the skill to kill the most dashing and daring pirate on the continent. "Thank you again, darling." Obi-Wan's back on his feet in an instant, trying and failing to fight the smile that comes with watching his lovely husband in his element. "Thank me later," Cody says, raking his fingers through his sweat-slick hair, though one stubborn curl always finds a way to spring free. "Let's get rid of these fucking imps first." "Well said, love," Obi-Wan compliments as he slices his rapier through the air. "Now, I'm about to do something mental, so don't worry--"

"Hello there," the man greets, a sliver of teeth appearing from beneath his groomed mustache. "You look lost." "I'm not," Cody's quick to defend, bristling slightly at the accusation. He's sure he's not lost. He spent the days after learning of his assignment studying each and every map that's ever existed of Serenno. If he must, he could likely navigate the streets with his eyes blindfolded. "Was just wandering." "Ah, of course. Wandering, not lost." The man's eyes shine. Cody finds it hard to look away. "I couldn't help but notice that you were rather enthralled with the flowers here. Are they to your liking?" "Yes," Cody answers, tightening his hold on his jogan fruit. "I haven't seen flowers like that before." "What a shame it took you so long to find them," the man comments with an air about him--one of authority and power, though Cody can't tell if it's rightful power or pretentious power. "Which ones do you like the most?" The man is right at his side, hardly an inch from his shoulder. He's warm... burning, almost, but Cody doesn't say anything. Cody points to the ones he had been admiring earlier, warm gold flowers that could be cradled perfectly in the palm of his hand. "These ones--" "Sungold roses," the man elaborates, plucking one gently from the stand. "I will say, they do suit you quite nicely." Before Cody can process what's happening, the man has trimmed the stem on a previously hidden pocket knife and stripped the stalk of all its thorns. "Hold still, dear--" The endearment makes Cody warm, poking at something deep within his chest he hadn't known was there. Cody's heart thunders--likely from the adrenaline and likely from the fact the man had pulled a knife without Cody noticing. Sloppy. Cody hasn't even been here an hour and he's already getting sloppy. The man's hand is careful as he reaches, brushing a bit of Cody's hair away as he tucks the flower behind his ear. "Just as I thought--" the corner of his eyes crinkle. "Gorgeous." Cody swallows the heat in his cheeks. "Thank you."
