Irene!!! I have a Gentleman Jack/Harlots crossover(ish) question. Hopefully, it's not a stupid one. Do we know if Anne Lister ever mentions in her diaries coming across brothels? And if she did, what was her opinion of them? I'm not sure what made me think of this question. I think it's the fact that they're both period pieces around the 18th/19th century. So, it made me curious. Thank you much! Still loving all your responses. Keep on screaming!

Maggie!!!! this got lost in like all the other asks and I feel a little bit sad answering this now after all that happened in Harlots (I’m still on denial, I haven’t watched the episode and every time I see a picture or a gifset of Charlotte I just cry inside, thank you Harlots for this amazing shitty feeling) anyway… Anne Lister does mention something about meeting “bad women” and “seeing curious scenes” (Saturday 13th November 1824). I also recall reading somewhere that Anne Lister’s father paid a prostitute, when AL was 19, to have sex with her. I think Sally Wainwright said this in an interview or something. I’d love to know the exact journal entry that suggests this event to read it and try to understand more about this. This is all i know :)

Your love of hands is not a weird obsession. Don't worry! You're not alone. Kait and I can attest to that. LOL. Also, now I need to know about these categories you have in your head about hands???

Oh well, thank god, I don’t feel alone! I really wouldn’t know how to explain in (english) words my categories to you ahaha but I can try to explain what my brain does when I meet someone. My brain basically organizes the hands of the people I know in groups (? does this make sense?) for example I meet someone new, look at their hands and I put that person in the group, let’s say, with Laura and Maria because they have similar hands. For example Sophie Rundle’s hands are very similar to my best friend’s hands, they’re in the same group, up there, almost in the perfect-hands-group. And I just wanna point out that this is so not a sexual thing lol hands are the most interesting part of someone in my opinion. You can understand so much about someone just looking at how they move their hands, at how they hold a pencil, at how they do simple things, at the way they talk (or don’t) with their hands... And I just think this is all very fascinating. When someone has interesting hands I’m always like “have you seen her/his hands?” at my friends and they’re always surprised I have an opinion even about the hands of some random stranger we crossed on the street.

Hi MAGGIE!!! I’ve just been working and working and working and working. So I’m tired and ready for Thanksgiving because I’ll go home to my sister’s and I don’t have to be in this stupid city for a week. Also just saw your Hocus Pocus message (don’t know why I’m just seeing it), but it is a good part of the film, but there is some weird wording in that scene.

When Danny is looking around for her mom and finally sees her, she says “My brother is a virgin and lit the black flame candle.” It’s weird that she says “my brother” instead of “Max” and always threw me as a kid because I could never figure out if that was actually her mom or not. Fun fact.
