Hello I made two moodboards for Coco! One for her and one for her demon form :3

Some random in-game MK mechanics for my main five(mostly Cash tbh):

-when Cash isn't being used in a match, she can be seen occasionally in the background of the Black Dragon Fight Club stage, taking bets on the match from other BD members. If Kano is also present, they will occasionally shout and make rude gestures at each other.

-Because of her luck powers, Cash has a 3% chance in any battle she loses to be randomly granted a Mercy, without any input from the other Kombatant.

-Most of Cash's weapon variants have women's names. She also has a pistol named "The One I Stole From Erron." If she is wearing this variant in a battle against Erron Black, he will gain a small boost to his attack power. If he wins the match, the pistol will be unequipped in favor of a random one, and will have to be re-equipped in the menu, implying he took the pistol back after winning and it must be re-stolen.

-Coco's name on the roster would be her codename, Siren.

-During the end of round taunts, if Cash is facing a woman Kombatant, her taunts will occasionally change to very cheesy pickup lines, usually with a pun related to the Kharacter.

IE: for Kitana - “Wow, I’m such a fan of you!”

for Mileena - “Your smile lights up my world.” etc etc (they’re not good)

-Siren and Calli will not perform finishing moves on each other. this includes Finishing Blows, Brutalities, and Fatalities.

-Of the main five, Sai and Calli's attack styles are more zoning based, with higher speed and range but less defense against close-range Kombatants. Izzy and Cash are the opposite, both preferring close range attacks with a lot of strength but less speed overall. Siren splits the difference between the two styles and is more overall balanced.

some more random Coco things

-she’s fluent in Greek, but the Greek she learned is more similar to Ancient Greek than Modern Greek. the meanings between the two are still the same but a lot of the pronunciations are different, so many people who also speak Greek think she sounds very funny. Calli can also speak it!

-she has the slightest hint of a Greek accent, a holdover from learning to speak from her parents. it’s almost undetectable in normal speech, but when she’s angry, excited, or drunk, it comes out a lot stronger. She’s also very prone to ranting in Greek during these moments. Calli doesn’t have the accent, bc their parents were already gone by the time she was old enough to be talking.

-Coco’s food choices are weird as shit to most people. she’s already weird around food in general, refusing to eat food prepared by people she doesn’t know or trust. she always keeps foods like nuts/seeds/dried fruits and veggies/fresh fruits that don’t need refrigeration/cured meats in her backpack so she has food, but her favorite foods are stuff like olives(she can eat an entire jar of good olives by herself), and she puts fish oil on almost everything bc it was common in her hometown and in her home in general. her favorite fruits are grapes, figs, and pomegranates!

-she wants to try roller derby really badly, but she also knows it wouldn’t be fair to the other players, considering how much more physically powerful she is than the average person her age is. she’s very physically active to boot, and loves stuff like dancing(both modern dance and stuff like belly dancing and fan dancing), hiking, and sparring!

Tanaka Industries Holiday Party! AKA “how my giant group of found family OCs celebrate the holidays together”

for anyone unaware, Tanaka Industries is a robotics and technology company owned by OC Izumi Tanaka! They have worked with both Special Forces and the Black Dragon(obviously the Special Forces don’t know about that one lmao). This, however, has almost nothing to do with the MKverse and everything to do with my self-indulgent fantasies about my found family of OCs and mostly serves as a fleshing out of characters and an insight into them as people! Plus i’ll be featuring some of my lesser-talked-about OCs, since most of them work at the compound.

Cash: is the last one to arrive to the party, as per usual(she’s only ever on time for work stuff). Shows up dressed to the nines in full western wear: a cream-colored cowboy hat, a nice and even unwrinkled(!unheard of for her) white western shirt with black accents and fringe hanging from the sleeves, a nice pair of blue jeans, and even her nice cowboy boots that she only brings out for special occasions. She shouts a stupid one liner as she enters: “Merry fuckin’ whatever, you lovely bunch of degenerates!” She gets Izzy a bottle of her favorite and very expensive soju, Stevie(the head chef of the compound and one of my favorite OCs ever) gets a bunch of nice cooking wines, and Coco gets a nice bottle of CBD-infused massage oil(she doesn’t drink often, but she is a very physically active person, so her muscles are always achey). This is also where she meets Calli, Coco’s younger sister! 

After the food is eaten and people get to drinking and partying, she does a fuckton of drunk karaoke. She does a few modern songs but it’s mostly old yeehaw music. She does a June and Johnny Cash cover duet with a very drunk Coco, and dances like a suburban dad at a bbq.

Coco: forgoes her usual oversized comfy clothes or goth/alt looks for a very pretty black dress that ends at her mid-thigh, and a pair of strappy black heels. Izzy took her to get her hair professionally done for the occasion, so her wild mass of curls is properly diffused and frizz-free, and she’s wearing a full face of admittedly subtle makeup, with the exception of a wine-red lipstick(she almost never has her lips showing bc of the mask she usually wears so she’s very excited to wear pretty lipstick!). She gets Cash a new black cowboy hat that has Native beadwork on it, Calli gets a new sketchbook, Izzy gets some new makeup palettes that Coco knows she wants!

Coco does not drink often, but she decides to say “fuck it” and let loose a little bit. She has zero alcohol tolerance so she’s about one and a half drinks in and MESSY drunk(Calli takes away her drink and asks Cremini, the bartender, to cut her off for her own safety). She and Stevie dance together(they’re both dancers so of course they do!) and she absolutely KILLS it on karaoke. She’s also drunk enough to be outwardly cuddly and happy, and starts talking to people in her native tongue(a very specific dialect of ancient Greek lmao). Calli is the only one who understands her but it makes her happy to see her big sister enjoying herself. She makes sure Coco gets to her bed safely and leaves aspirin and water on the nightstand for her.

Calli: wears a large oversized holiday sweater with simple black leggings and fur-lined booties(comfort above all things is Calli’s MO). her hair, which is usually up in a bun, is down, dusting her shoulders in wavy white strands. Her gift to everyone is a very intricate portrait of themselves, including Cash(she draws Cash’s over the course of the party, since this is their first meeting). She and Cash bond over silly stuff, and she ends up teaching her about memes, to the detriment of everyone around her.

Cash is also very surprised to see Calli drinking a lot and being able to hold her liquor, especially compared to her older sister. Calli laughs it off and explains that she inherited her dad’s high tolerance, and Coco inherited their mom’s lack thereof. She spends most of the party showing Cash memes and drawing her, but does a few karaoke songs too. She doesn’t have as impressive of a singing voice as her sister, but it still sounds quite nice. She also joins the video game group for a few rounds of super smash brothers.

Izumi: goes all-in with a full blowout, makeup professionally done, dressed up in a gorgeous and very form-fitting white bodycon dress with a long slit up to above the thigh, and a giant fur stole. Everyone gets a huge bonus as their gift, with the exception of those who don’t work there(Cash and Calli). They just get cash as a gift anyways lmao.

Being the host, she tries to go around and chat with everyone, making sure they’re having a good time. She ends up spending most of her time playing Smash off in the corner, though. She rarely ever gets to play games with how busy she is! She also does a lot of dancing.

Sai: Sai is dressed as she normally is, all tattered robes and mori kei looking. She’s from Outworld so the holiday season is still fairly new to her. She doesn’t participate in a lot of the festivities, preferring to sit and watch her recently found family enjoying themselves for once. The only gift she needs or wants is to see them happy. She finds Coco’s drunk antics particularly amusing. Her gifts to everyone is a future sight she saw of them in the new year that will bring them fortune or something good. The gift of prophecy!

OKAY NOW THAT WE GOT THE MAINS OUT OF THE WAY LETS TALK ABOUT MY LESSER KNOWN BABES

Sascha: Sascha is a dude who met the Nova sisters at the orphanage they ended up in after their parents passed, and he became sort of an older-brother figure to Calli after Coco ended up getting adopted. They are all still good friends to this day and Sascha is basically considered another member of the family by both of them, and also works as part of the secretive Specialty Team at Tanaka Industries(basically Izzy’s team of fixers who go on special missions and aren’t well-known about by the public), and co-leads it along with Coco. He’s semi-dressed up in a green plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a pair of jeans. He’s very naturally quiet and chill as shit, and he just has a few drinks and exchanges gifts, spending the rest of his time at the party playing Smash. He’s a Ness main. He wins almost every match.

Aten: stinky man! Not invited. He gets coal in his stockings because he's awful and shot Cash and broke Coco’s heart. I love him but he’s a bastard man.

AND FINALLY MY FAV MERCENARY GROUP!!!!!

The Gourmand Mercenary Group is a merc group that used to front as a fancy restaurant(and indeed, did so well as a restaurant that they were considering retiring from merc shit) before meeting Izumi. She contracted them to help her confirm complete control over her company, and when she took over, she hired them on permanently to help her run things. And indeed, they run most of the day to day business stuff that Izzy can’t handle on her own! Also, all their codenames are based off food. It's a weird concept but it’s fun.

Cremini: The de facto leader of the group! She mostly runs the bar and inventory for the compound these days. She and Sage show up in matching ugly sweaters. She only gets behind the bar at the party to make specific mixed drinks, otherwise it’s all open season and anyone can grab themselves whatever(she needs a break too!). Spends most of her time eating and dancing.

Sage: resident himbo and heavy weapons expert, as well as janitorial staff. As previously stated, he and Cremini wear matching ugly holiday sweaters(they grew up together and have a very sibling-like relationship). Also spends most of his time eating with Cremini, but also does some very terrible karaoke and a little bit of gaming. He’s also super excited to see Calli, since he has a tiny crush on her and she doesn’t live at the compound like everyone else.

Tira: Security specialist for the compound and hyper nonbiney pocket rocket. Pretty much always wears ugly sweaters anyways so is just dressed normally. Also spends most of the party with the Smash group and is the only one to even rival Sascha’s playing. Is a Kirby main and is a TERRIBLE troll player, spamming the same moves.

Mille: The company accountant and vehicle specialist for important missions, as well as transfemme excellence. Always dresses in pink lolita coords and does so at the party as well. She enjoys the food and drink but much like Sai, prefers to sit back and watch her found family of dipshits have fun and enjoy themselves. She cheers at every karaoke performance, even the awful ones.

Burrata: Stealth expert and genderfluid mute. They are dressed femme at the party in a very pretty dress. Gets sloshed and does lots of spinny dancing moves. Smiles more than most of the group have ever seen them do. Mille in particular is very close with Burrata and is very happy about this development.

Agave: Twin sister to Stevie and the medic of the group, as well as the gardener and a poison expert. Spends most of the time helping Stevie in the kitchen, but afterwards picks out her afro and does her makeup quickly and somehow looks the best with the least amount of time(she’s fucking gorgeous). Wears a pretty yellow sundress and puts flowers in her afro and looks like a beautiful ray of sunshine in the middle of winter. Dances with Stevie and Coco for most of the party, and is super amused to see Coco so drunk. 

Stevie: MY SWEET BABY BOYO. BEST BOY. Transmasc twin brother to Agave and chef of the group, basically the main reason why the restaurant front worked so well. Makes a HUGE spread of food for the party and it’s all fucking delicious. Is super proud of how everything turned out. Is also an amazing dancer, and spends most of the post-cooking part of the party doing so.

some blurbs about Coco and Zatounin, the god of vengeance that resides in her soul~

(Zatounin technically serves different purposes and roles depending on which universe Coco is in, this is specifically for MKverse and goes with the info that already exists in her character bio! (altho at the very end i’ll mention how Zatounin works in YYHverse lmao))

-his lore as a deity is that he resides in the Andromede society’s version of the Underworld, not as the operator of it(that’s a different deity), but a denizen. he was once a god of a different aspect, but he fell in love with a human woman and brought her to live with him after she returned his affections, but the trickster god of their pantheon, named Lindosen, tricked and killed her, jealous of her affection toward Zatounin, since he coveted her. after finding this out, he became the god of vengeance, and Lindosen became his sworn rival.

-the process that Coco’s people go through to draw the gods into their form is extremely taxing and painful, and takes training to do properly merge and de-merge, hence why they don’t typically allow the merging to happen before the age of 15. Coco unwittingly merging with Zatounin at the age of 11 with no preparation caused his essence as a god to become essentially “trapped” inside her soul, merging him with it, and causes her immense pain. she barely remembers the actual pain of the initial merger, as she was already close to death and floating in and out of consciousness, but she has dealt with it every day since. she hides it well, but it feels like a constant and intense burning or ripping sensation inside of her. she’s very good at hiding the pain, as it’s a constant in her life at this point, but it’s always there.

-she was floating in and out of consciousness when he came to her initially, and he had to work hard to pull her from the brink of death. he called to her, over and over in her mind, and in her mind she saw a large hand, coated in darkness, reaching out to her. he begged her to take his hand, promising his protection. she reached out, and as their hands touched, the darkness began to wrap around her hand, until it covered her entirely. that and a flash of immense pain was the last thing she remembered before she passed out completely, and Zatounin took full control of her body to protect her and kill her abusers.

-his magic appears as a sort of black and purple smoke-like energy, although it moves oddly like ink in a water suspension, almost haphazard and appearing to “bloom”, with small tendrils curling away from it. Coco can use this magic to grab people, like an extension of a hand, and she can also envelope people in it, draining their life force. the purple parts of it glow.

-Zatounin himself has his own design, though i’m still working on it(and need to get a commission at some point but FUCK IM BROKE LMAO). he is almost humanoid in appearance, but much larger, with a broad chest, a head, two arms, and two legs. however, his skin tone appears to be ink-black, with a reflective purple sheen in the light. he also has giant bat-like wings, smaller wings where his ears would be, horns that curve straight up, sharp teeth, and claws. as well, his movement is very inhuman: when not using his wings to fly, he moves in an almost animalistic way, on all fours, in a very jittery and unnatural manner. his eyes aren’t black either, like Coco’s become when she uses his magic, but instead it’s the same bright, glowing purple that exists in his magic.

-Coco can fully allow him to take over her body in emergency situations, but it’s very taxing and painful, plus it takes a while to fully recover from, so she only ever uses it as a last resort. she tends to use a form that i’ve been calling her Possessed Form for lack of a better term yet, where she partially allows him to take over. (here’s a picrew i made of it!) it’s quite an interesting transformation to watch from start to finish: first her eyes will change color, becoming fully black as though she’s wearing large sclera lenses. then, her hands will grow claws and become covered in the same blackness as they were the first time she and Zatounin merged, with wisps and blooms of blackness traveling up her arm, though not all the way. she also grows his fangs, horns, and both sets of wings(the ear wings give help her hearing exponentially as well!). in this form, she can use a lot of his powers, including increased strength and speed, extra control over how his magic moves and works, and the use of portals of darkness that she can transport herself and others through, though the range these portals have is limited to small distances.

-Coco is able to use his magic without transforming fully or partially, but this has taken much practice and effort on her part. if she doesn’t want to fight someone but she does want to intimidate them, she’ll typically stay in human form(or very partially transform ie eyes teeth and claws with nothing else changing) and threaten them with the magic.

-because of the merger, Zatounin is always with her. she talks to him a lot in her head, or occasionally out loud. if he wants to make himself known to others, he will show himself as a black wisp of smokey/inky magic with only his eyes visible otherwise. he can communicate with others without taking over Coco’s body, although that is because of a lot of practice of mastery over the ability to do so on Coco’s part.

-very rarely, if Zatounin thinks its necessary, or if his ire as a deity of vengeance has been activated, he will take over Coco’s body himself to either protect her or enact his own revenge. He tries to not do this, as he respects Coco’s autonomy as much as he can, but it does slip out. Coco’s managed to stop him exactly once during these kinds of moments.

-despite his terrifying appearance, immense power, and obsession with revenge as the deity of such, Zatounin himself is a very reasonable being. he is very protective of his human charge, helping her often with words of advice and reassurance in hard moments. many people with no understanding of the people of Andromede’s pantheon assume he’s a demon who’s possessed Coco’s body, and worked out some kind of deal with her. She usually doesn’t correct these false assumptions, unless it’s someone she knows and respects.

-Coco’s fiance-turned-sworn-enemy, Aten Vela, was given his powers by Lindosen, the trickster god who kills Zatounin’s human lover. He keeps this information from her while they are engaged, knowing Zatounin would never allow his manipulation of her if he knew the truth.

-in YYH verse, Coco is in fact a hybrid demon/human, and Zatounin is her ancestor and took over her body during a similar moment as he did in MKverse(the backstory is mostly the same with some slight changes, i’ll get into it eventually lmao). because of that, she awakened her demon energy much earlier than Yusuke did, but like Yusuke, she didn’t meet him(or any of her demon family) until the Three Kings arc. she starts the series much stronger than the main four boys, but doesn’t work with them until at least the Chapter Black arc, and by the time the Three Kings arc rolls around, they all begin to outrank her.

Nova sibling tidbits~

-Calli still has trouble concentrating on academic work if Coco’s not around. She associates study time with Coco’s singing while doing housework, from their childhood/teenagerhood. she’ll sometimes listen to old recordings of her singing if she’s not around and Calli can’t focus on her work.

-Sascha and Coco are both little feral goblins who are always ready to throw down at any given moment, so they constantly start fights in the house that cause a huge mess. Sometimes Calli gets included in the battle, but only if both of them know she’s ready for it, and if it’s not over a personal matter. in the Nova household, you’re always battle-ready.

-Calli plays pranks on both of them. She likes to scare Coco when she’s not expecting it, although she usually also has to dodge an instinctive punch, since Coco is fight in the fight-or-flight argument. With Sascha, her favorite prank is putting her barrier magic in a doorway he’s about to walk through. He never doesn’t fall for it. He has not learned in a decade, and honestly bless his heart for that.

-Coco and Sascha always end up butting heads when they have guests over, bc she was always taught in her upbringing that Guests are The Most Important Thing Ever™️(it’s a big thing in her culture since, being on a hidden-away island, people didn’t often have guests), and Sascha is apathetic at best with other people in the house. He pretty much behaves the same way he always does, which is relaxed, non-talkative, and casual. She, meanwhile, is extra respectful, and always offering things like water and food and the like. She gets mad at him for not being more reverent about the whole thing.

-Despite all their fighting, both physically and otherwise, Coco and Sascha are very close. Sascha is the first one to notice that something’s really wrong with Coco after her and Aten split up, and actually comfort her for it instead of just staying out of her way like most everyone else. Much like Calli, Coco didn’t tell Sascha about any of their relationship(under Aten’s advice, of course), but he knew she needed her big brother and went to help her.

-and of course, Calli and Sascha are incredibly close. he was the one to help her after she and Coco were separated, he helped her learn how to fight in ways that Coco couldn’t teach her, and he’s usually who she goes to when Coco’s being unreasonable. they all tend to end up being mediators between each other, bc between the three of them, there’s a fuckton of trauma. They do love each other very much though, and even though Sascha isn’t related to Calli and Coco by blood, they both consider him just as much of family as each other.

-in some universes where it’d make more sense for there to be an actual adult in the house, Astrid, who’s the one remaining Village Elder in Andromede(Coco and Calli’s ancestral homeland) adopts all three. It’s usually Calli and Sascha at first, with Coco finding her way in eventually. despite the fact that she’s not super hands-on, she cares dearly for all three of them, and is always willing to help then with whatever they need. Also, they call her "Grandma", not "Mom," even though she's technically their adoptive mother.

Coco is the angriest of my OCs and also the one who gets her ass kicked the most. to date, she has challenged Kano, Raiden, Fujin, and Shang Tsung to a battle and lost. taking almost as many L’s as canon Erron Black smh 🥴
