I really do love the Olympics, but not for the reasons you might expect. The reasons I love them is because it's a perfect example of what we can expect from the elite pigs that are going to run the new world that we're already pretty neck-deep in.
For starters, if those Olympians aren't selling those medals ten years from now, then it's probably a small miracle. Their lives are pretty much already ruined, yet they're pumped up full of all kinds of hyperbole to keep them on their disastrous trajectory. Most of them wish they sucked, simply so they could live relatively normal lives like their friends who didn't make the cut. This has been documented time and time again. It's so commonly-occurring, I don't need sources; research a dozen athletes for a few minutes, and you'll find the same things every time.
During the games they are typically used as prostitutes for the wealthy patrons with no promises other than a couple of good nights out. The Olympics are not the only such stages for these arrangements. Indeed, the other flood of minor events, such as the World Cup, the Pan-American Games, and many other international competitions provide a constant supply of people to meet the demand for this practice. In reality, the Olympics are just a larger-scale event for a more common, ongoing practice, at least in this regard.
Meanwhile, the city or region hosting the games will be likely bearing a debt for almost a century. The only place who seems to be able to host it without such a heavy damage, which is factually borne by every citizen of the region, if not the country, was...guess who...London.
