Situation 2, sentence 30 and 38, pre reveal adrinette
Adrinette (pre-reveal)
2 - Stuck indoors on a rainy day
30 - “You smell nice.”
38 - “You just feel really good. Soft and warm…”
“A-adrien?” Marinette stuttered out. “What are you doing here?!”
This was a question she often posed when she unexpectedly encountered Adrien, even in locations were he was expected to be. It was something her friends would playfully tease her about, her wanting Adrien to be everywhere but being surprised when he was anywhere.
Except for this was a time where she thought her question was perfectly valid: considering they were on the top story of a seemingly abandoned building, the sound of wind and thunder echoing outside, and it was late at night.
And the door to the lower floors was locked.
She had just finished defeating an akuma, a late night akuma being her least favorite kinds to fight (the only ones that were worst were the ones in the middle of the night that she had to wake up to fight). And with an incoming storm and the exhaustion in her limbs she had been ready to sleep. But with her earrings beeping she knew her transformation wouldn’t last that long.
So she had yoyo-ed over towards the nearest empty building, intending to detransform in there and walk home. However as she had descended the steps she had found a large metal door blocking her way, locked with no way for it to open.
So she had headed back up, intending to transform and get home that way, only to run into Adrien Agreste.
Late at night. In an empty building. On the other side of the city. With a door that was locked.
Adrien was gaping at her. “Marinette?” At least he was just as startled as her. “What...? How...?”
“I a-asked you first,” Marinette said defensively, crossing her arms.
“...I was sleep walking?” Adrien offered.
“Sleep walking?” To some random building far from his home?
“Yep,” he said just a bit too cheerfully. “And you?”
“Eep!” Marinette cried at the sudden clap of thunder, a flash of lightning lighting up the room. She sprang forward, arms wrapping around the nearest thing. Or person.
Adrien. She was clinging to Adrien
He placed a gentle hand on her back. “You okay?”
“Y-yeah,” she whispered, arms still wrapped around him in a tight embrace. “Just startled...”
She winced as another clap of thunder echoed, this time accompanied by the pattering of rain against the window. Adrien wrapped both arms around her, looking towards the window, where the storm was raging. She couldn’t help but relax, Adrien being so gentle, the smell of cologne, cheese, and rain in the air.
“You smell nice,” Marinette muttered, before suddenly stiffening up as she realized what she said. Her eyes widened as she jumped back, but Adrien only chuckled.
“Thank you?” He said, not looking a bit at all fazed, and Marinette felt herself flushing.
“I’m sorry!” She said, burying her head in her hands. “I’m just tired! And nervous! The only way out of here is locked and I... I don’t know...”
She couldn’t transform now, not with Adrien here.
“Do you have your cell phone with you?” Adrien asked softly. “I... I don’t have mine on me, and maybe we could call for help...”
He trailed off, only for Marinette’s eyes to widen again. She had bolted out of her room as soon as the Akuma Alert went off, leaving her phone behind. It wasn’t often a priority, since she had her yoyo if she needed to contact anyone... but with Adrien here transforming wasn’t an option.
“We’re trapped!” Marinette cried in realization. “We’re trapped with no way out because all the doors are locked and we have no way to call anyone and no one will probably see us because it’s dark and stormy and we’re going to be trapped here forever with no way to escape and we’ll starve and no one will know what happened to us–!“
Adrien’s hands fell to her shoulders. “Hey, Marinette, breath. It’s okay, Princess, just breath. We’re not going to be trapped here, I’m sure the owner of the building will be by in the morning. We’ll be just fine, I promise.”
“Of course,” Adrien said softly, smiling at her, and she flushed. “It’s just one night, that’s all. How about we find some place for us to settle down for the night?”
“Oh... okay,” Marinette said softly, blinking. This... this was happening quickly. She was stuck. Here with Adrien. All night. They would have to sleep here. Together.
Except for we aren’t really stuck but if I transform my identity is revealed so I guess I got no choice but to stick around.
“I’m going to go check to see if there’s any other way out,” Adrien said. “Why don’t you see if you can find something to keep us warm if I can’t find away out?”
“Okay,” Marinette said softly, feeling somewhat more calm with a plan in mind. Adrien smiled, before heading towards the stairs, leaving Marinette alone in he middle of the room, another clap of thunder snapping her out of her thoughts.
Marinette’s search didn’t yield too much, the most she was being able to find were a large winter coat abandoned in a closet and a couch in what looked to be a lobby. She stood by the couch waiting for Adrien, who only shook his head as he reported the door was still locked.
“This... this was the closest thing to a blanket I could find,” Marinette muttered. “It’s big but there’s only one and the couch is the only soft thing here.”
“It should work,” Adrien said with a smile. “We can share... if you’re okay with that, of course. If not I’ll just take the floor, since I have long sleeves on my shirt.”
“I’m f-fine with sharing,” Marinette flushed. “O-or you can take the coat and the couch, that works too.”
“I’m not leaving you to freeze,” Adrien said, grabbing her hand as he pulled her towards the couch. Marinette was thankful that it was a bit dark, sure that her face was bright red as they carefully sat down.
Adrien didn’t hesitate to pull her close as they sat, draping the large coat over them as they slowly got settled. Despite everything that was happening, she felt herself relaxing as Adrien’s arms wrapped around her. The idea of cuddling Adrien had always sounded like a dream... but she hadn’t expected him to feel so familiar and... safe, and she let out a sigh.
“Is this okay?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah,” Marinette muttered, curling up closer to him. “You just feel really good. Soft and warm…“
She didn’t get the chance to get flustered with her words, too tired to fully realize what she had just said to her crush. Her mind had only registered the fact that she was warm and safe.
It didn’t take long for the two to drift off, exhausted from the akuma and how late it was, the sound of rain on the windows acting like a lullaby. All was still for a time as they curled up, until two small shapes slowly appeared.
“Our holders are idiots, Sugar Cube.”
“I am nice. Just like they're idiots.”
“...Should we remind one of them that we could have unlocked the door for them?” Tikki asked.
“Nah,” Plagg said, looking at the two curled up together. “They’re adorable, look at the two idiots. Leave them be.”
Tikki shook her own head, before curling up with the Black Cat kwami, the two of them soon drifting off as well.
