something wonderful happened to me this day, friend ivy invited me over to their church, Miracle Life Fellowship International. i met young people there and we watched the film facing the giants together. at first i couldn't focus to the movie for i was a little uneasy since it was my first time at their place, i was anticipating what we're going to do after watching.
Facing the Giants is a story of faith (it's better if you'll watch it yourself). Grant Taylor, coach of the loser football team Shiloh Eagles and a husband facing infertility problem was down on his luck. when then he found himself crying out to God, with his team they prayed and practiced hard to win against their competitors and because of omnipotent God they had the chance to compete and win versus team Giant. with more of God's surprises coach grant's wife blissfully told him that at last they're gonna have a child.
lights on.
then this little boy at my side stood up, went in front, held the microphone and greeted us, he's one of the youth emcees there. he made us watched again, it was a short slideshow of bible verses that constructed a really good message from God. after that, mrs. learni Bautista took over and shared more teachings. we also had some groupings to get to share things out with the rest of the teens, it's kind of awkward in my group because the 2 youth leader advising us is younger than me -,- , but anyhow its was good hearing things from them.
it was long since i last experienced those kind of activity, the retreats way back in grade school, recollection and youth camp in high school, there maybe difference yet they had the same aim-sending us close to God. what i can't guess is that overwhelming feeling which i felt again lately.
i taught we'll be ask to say something at the end of the mass, i just wanted to say thanks to my friend ivy who brought me there, to those young people organizing that kind of pursuit, it was a soothing moment.
