"We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now because I've been to the mountaintop . . .I've looked over and I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land." Still relevant and applicable words today from the late, great and legendary, Sir Martin Luther, King, Jr. Yesterday, I had the privilege to share space and create with my fellow community members in the Bull City at W.D. Hill Recreation Center. What compelled me to participate in this cooperative mural painting activity was the intergenerational love and support of Black men and boys observed. The pride, warmth and connectedness made me overwhelmingly proud; I couldn't imagine not joining in and lending another supportive hand in completing this community masterpiece in honor of the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. MLK, Jr. Although the image is slightly blurry in the middle, the vision of this activity was "clearly" and seamlessly executed. Happy Personal New Year, Sir King, Jr. I am living proof of your dream continuously being realized. #supersoulsunday #mlkweekend2017 #bullcityluv #fctalk
