So, after remembering this scene in the MLP movie, i want to give my two cents:
Because, after seeing someone on tumblr saying this:
"Are Twilight's friends acting irresponsibly and childishly while all their friends and family suffer in slavery? Twilight is such a meany that she was the only one who was serious and tried to take at least some action to save Equestria"
It made me realize that, the writers not only made Twilight's friends act OOC in the movie(they don't really help her out and Rainbow Dash DID screw them over with the Rainboom).
They also wanted a third act break up, but, they executed it poorly.
Like, yeah..
Twilight DID try to steal the pearl, and Pinkie has a right to call her out that(cause the Hippogriffs were going to give them the pearl cause the song Pinkie and Skystar sang).
But, Twilight was also desperate and stressed, rightfully so, she wanted to save everyone in Equestria from enslavement! She was doing her best as Equestria's last hope.
So, here is my takeaway on this scene, that I kept to myself for some time.

they could have both reasonably argued
you know, characters arguing and bringing up valid points
and like, i get what the scene was trying to do, but the context behind it makes the execution poor"

Like, the shoreline argument scene could have been better, with Twilight calling out her friends for being irresponsible and not taking it seriously(like, she calls out Rainbow for her little stunt, and how she is trying to save all of Equestria, and how Capper was planning to sell them off), and how she was trying to get the pearl to save Equestria from the Storm King
Pinkie could have argued that they friends along the way(the pirates and the hippogriffs for instance) and that Queen Novo was planning to give them the pearl(she also calls Twilight out for trying to steal the pearl and how she told them to distract them from doing so).
And her friends could have been more understanding to her plight, like, you can still have them argue AND understand her stress and frustrations
I got the idea from the Earth Mover episode from Batman Beyond, where there are two characters(Bill and the Earth Mover) who are presented as both in the right and in the wrong:

So, yeah.
I like the MLP movie still, but, it fumbled with its character writing and half baked attempts for conflict.
I think that in the shoreline argument scene, both Pinkie and Twilight could have brought up valid point and them both being called out(like, they are both in the right and in the wrong).
Both White And Black Hat Would Agree On One Thing: Gabriel Can Go Suck It
Black and White Hat wouldn’t agree on everything but even they wouldn’t like what happened at the end of Miraculous. Mostly because Black Hat would think he went pussy at the end and turned face. Also White Hat would roll his eyes because Gabriel was certainly not the good father he thinks he was and again not trying to reveal himself as the villain to his son was cowardly. In the end, both wouldn’t be happy how things turned out.
Not to mention the fact that the show redeems him while not doing anything for Chloe who got her redemption arc shut down due to the creator being petty and childish as hell. And worst of all this is only the first arc, which means they dragged this out so long with mediocre pay off. It make you wonder how many more arcs they are going to go through and it will be a nothing burger. Austic is leaving, but I don’t really have anymore hope for this waste potential of a show.
Basically, after Rainbow Dash rightfully crashes out about how her parents were being creepy and over bearing, Scootaloo still gets angry and storms off because lets be honest, that is a realistic reaction that a child will have, especially considering the fact she thought that Rainbow's parents were the best.
But...
Rainbow explains to Scootaloo that while she appreciates her parent's support and that it did help her succeed in her youth,
She doesn't appreciate the fact that they were being too overbearing and creepy, and potentially harming others considered they blasted fireworks and other dangerous things while cheering
So, after that long explanation, she and Scootaloo reconcile after Scootaloo understands the situation and how Rainbow is feeling
And the episode ends with Rainbow apologizing for crashing out but she tells them that she is setting boundaries from now on, and Rainbow Dash's parents also apologizing with how over bearing they were and they promise to respect Rainbow Dash's boundaries, and they are still supportive, but its not to the point of being over bearing, embarrassing, and even reckless to the point of endangering other ponies
Thoughts on this? I would like to here feedback for improvement!
So for another video that details my problems with Ending of the End SPECIFICALLY and how it handled its villains
This video explains it well, heck the guy even gives examples of the protagonist sparing the villain after they were defeated(even if they don't deserve it
I recommend this video since he lays out the problems i had perfectly
And while i dislike Zaid as a person...
They made this great video on why the Grogar twist ruins Discord's character!
(you can dislike the person without invalidating their criticism in certain media, its like with the Nostalgia Critic)
So yeah, these help with the problems i actually have with the MLP finale as a whole, it felt like they were appealing too much with the fans and the fans complaints
To this day, i never understood why the writers of MLP introduced Scootaloo's parents late in the series, and not only that..
...they made it that they willingly gave their kid to the aunts(yeah, abandonment) and come they back to her, which makes them look bad considering that makes them look like neglectful parents
Like, i know the writers didn't intend it, but the way they are written and introduced makes them look bad and neglectful...
Like, it would have made sense if they introduced her aunts earlier and that her parents were long dead due to an incident at their job
..or, make her parents visit their child in their free time and have them have family bonding moments(like, introduce them earlier in the series so that they won't look awful)
idk...
I just think MLP fumbled really hard with this, like why continue making them neglectful parents, and if that was the intention...
..then acknowledge that at least
These are just my thoughts, what do you guys think should have happened?
You know what i honestly find funny in regards to the Starlight Stans?
They always use the excuse "She didn't know any better!!" (in regards to destroying the timeline)
while not using that for Cozy Glow
its weird they would rather excuse a grown mare over a filly(and do not say Cozy is actually a mare in a filly's body, it hasn't been proven in the show)
It doesn't make sense that ALL of the Changelings reformed
I mean, they do imply that not all of them reformed in season 7, but it is told, not shown
Like, it would have been interesting to see some unreformed Changelings that remain loyal to Chrysalis, not even caring that they are starving at all
I remember seeing something about a "Changeling civil war", and its pretty interesting..
ik MLP is a kids show, but even children's media can show that(like in the Lion King, they show the lions that remain loyal to Scar, even after what happened)(and being a kids show isn't an excuse, i've seen kids shows be complex)
Anyways, thoughts on this?
Because looking back, it doesn't make sense to me that all Changelings accept friendship and reformation quickly
(I would also talk about how Chrysalis is handled as a villain, but thats gonna be for another post)
Oh, man, can I rant about MLP for a second? I hate what the inclusion of Discord did to the show. Suddenly you got this guy being a jerk to everyone but Fluttershy and everyone just had to deal with him because he was no longer "evi". Not to mention his presence made almost every villain pointless because eventually Discord could deal with the threats.
I can't say he irritated me or something, but I agree that the character with almost limitless power is always a one step away from massive plothole.
I kinda understand what lesson they wanted to teach by episodes where he's no longer evil and his attitude was caused by mane six's behavior, but honestly, I can't blame girls for not wanting to be totally friendly and careless near someone who made them lost themselves not so long ago.
So... I can't say he's like the worst villian in mlp, but he couldn've been written better I think
