I've noticed that creepy pasta writers and even ppl doing the infection aus had a weird trend of giving rarity the worst treatment. Out of everyone it was usually her getting the the most traumatic death or something and the wokest parts of my brain knows that it has something to do with misogyny but i just cant prove it

Obviously headcanon whatever you want bc it doesnt matter but the entire premise of the show is that recluse twilight is forced to make friends with a group of ponies who are entirely different from her and each other and they help her grow as a person to be more socially aware

Realistically the main six would be all racially diverse with twilight being the token white friend, I said what I said.

people are too uptight about EVERYTHING in this fandom. people are so protective over ships, they'll get up on arms about other people's headcannons, whether it be about race, takes on mentall illness within the characters, sexuality, literally everything. it makes me feel so resentful sometimes towards this fandom sometimes. i've had multiple of my friends say they love a certain thing about mlp but don't wanna share their love because it's not the most commonly accepted thing.

pinkie can be black or white, twilight can be on the spectrum, rainbow dash can be bi, ship them all with each other or don't ship them with anyone. they can be whatever you want them to be, and in the same breath you can acknowledge other people's different interpretations of these characters. you don't have to like or enjoy what someone else is doing with your comfort pony but you're also not the only person in the world who sees them exactly like you do. if you Really are peeved by it then block and move on

Rainbow dash is more feminine than people realize. That's quite literally her Schick in several episodes. I still hc her as masc, but I wish more people were willing to give her more feminine traits or let her act/ do traditionally feminine things.

Remember people, these are made-up terms. masc ≠ never feminine

I still don't like the brony fandom. They can claim that they aren't problematic all they want , but this fandom started on 4chan. I didn't like them when I was young and it was cool to make edgy fanfics and videos that dumb kids like myself could stumble on because they were prank videos that looked like real clips only to be some Cupcakes bs

I didnt like them when they would trash on G3 for being "too girly"

I didnt like how you for the longest time couldnt even google a character because bam porn front and center. I know that's actually google's fault, but for a fandom that demands respect and "isnt about the porn" yeah okay buddy

The only thing good to come from the brony fandom, at least to someone that didnt read fanfics was the music

As for nowadays I see them trashing G5 and all I can say is.... The target demographic for this grew up, when will you?

Expanding on that one confession with having problems withing the fandom, I wanna share my biggest gripe.

I think now its more under control than before, but withing the early peak of the MLP fandom there was not a big enough divide between adult and young fans. I think there is nothing wrong with kids shows having a section of a fandom who are adults, but the problem comes when make more mature content for it. Although I myself was not exposed too it ive heard so many stories from people I know personally seeing those violent parodies and sexual fanart of their favorite colorful horses.

I think if youre gonna make adult centered content of a kids show, and share it online, you have to do your best to make sure kids aren't exposed too it. You are responsible for who your content reaches, and how many videos like that were uploaded to yt at the time was just, ew.

As someone who grew up with teh show and also was more in tuned to pop culture and the internet as a kid than i probably should've been, i saw practically evvvverrryyythingggg....

Its complicated because i agree but also some great stuff have come from the fandom, but ofc childrens safety should always be a priority. Some people will make the argument that adults who like kids shows should be able to do whatever because parents should be monitoring their kids online, and while that is true, people need to understand that as adults, you're technically taking over kids spaces and kids dont really have their own spaces anynore. Like same with bluey or disney, these are fandoms primarily made up of adults and it can lead to entitlement that bleeds over irl sometimes. I dont remember if it was bluey but i remember when a character plush merch was being bought up by adults and the kids couldnt even get their hands on them.

That being said tho, when it comes to the internet theres only so much you can do to hide stuff.

Sometimes, the Fandom just really upsets me. Cool creators online get outed as being terrible people, artists who used to inspire me and I liked turned out to be hidden creeps, writers who gave interesting stories to read and adore, turn out to be well... just like the rest. I wish there were just more fun and amazing people with pony stuff who aren't bad people. I needed to let that out because I just found out someone I really liked turned out to be another who is terrible... I know it isn't everyone, but it can feel like that sometimes

I’m sick of every ‘what if the main six were evil’ having fluttershy just be flutterbat. It was intresting at first but now it’s just so annoying. Where’s the originality??? It’s all just flutterbat flutterbat flutterbat!! I’m sick of it. Can we not have an evil fluttershy design that isn’t just exactly based off her in that one singular episode?

Yeah, this fandom has a habit of following trends and turning them into rules. I love flutterbat, but people can get so repetitive. it's a little boring.
