new reference of my oc

wanted to show off one of my MLP OCs. He turned out so pretty! :D

Oh, and just for fun, I used a base so here’s what he would look like in the show:

Name: Galactic Nova

Nickname/s: Nova, Gala

Orientation: biromantic demisexual (uses term "demi-bi")

Pronouns: she/her

Gender identity: cis woman

Parents: ??? and ??? (original characters)

Siblings: ??? (unsure)

Special Talent: astronomy

Species: Unicorn

Age in relation to Sunny Starscout: about 4 years older (approx. 25)

Brief Backstory:

-Gained cutie mark around the same time as her peers on a camping trip in the Bridlewood Forest. The camp set up in a clearing with an excellent view of the sky, and the teacher pointed out the various constellations and their significance to the unicorn culture.

-However, the teacher running the trip could not answer Nova's questions about what stars were/how they formed (gave very "well, they're uh, bright lights in the sky like the sun" answers). This prompted Nova to develop her own hypotheses about what the lights were made of (one of which was candles), which prompted her cutie mark.

-After gaining her cutie mark and returning to school, she went to the library to find out as much as she could about stars. She eventually found an OLD book talking about how stars were balls of gas, but that was the extent of it.

-She became very reclusive and frustrated because of how little information there was on stars, as the unicorn society didn't have any information on them, but her cutie mark was based on this unexplored area of science.

-She did the best with the little resources she had, but after the return of magic and finding out that Maretime Bay had more information on stars she jumped ship and moved there.

-She does miss the quiet nature of Bridlewood, though. She visits her parents every month and will eventually be one of the pioneers of shared knowledge between the different cities.

-This move was also scary for her because, well, she originally believed the propaganda about Earth Ponies being savage and dumb, but finding out they had a more advanced astronomy program was the complete opposite to what she had learned.

-She is not experiencing full paralysis but cannot walk or stand on her back legs for more than a few moments. I imagine she has nerve and/or muscular issues

(This OC is highly inspired/is a redesign of Twilight Sparkle for gen 5)

Name: Betty Sprout

Nickname/s: Betty, Bee

Orientation: queer (doesn't label beyond that)

Pronouns: prefers she/her (but also responds to he/him and they/them, just neutral on them)

Gender identity: "eh, woman?" (afab but doesn't really care)

Parents: ??? and ??? (original characters), raised by father

Siblings: ???

Children: Lily Sprout, Cherry Sprout, Billy Sprout, 2 others (unknown)

Special Talent: growing large batches of fruit

Species: Earth Pony

Age in relation to Sunny Starscout: about 25 years older (45-46 ish)

Brief Backstory:

-grew up on the family farm on the outskirts of Maretime Bay with her father. She is an only child. Her father was a pretty good one, but was unfortunately busy due to his work on the farm.

-the farm was fairly small when she was young, but it was given funding when she was in her mid-teens by the Cloverleaf family, as a result, they could hire more farmhands and grow more produce and

-her mother died in childbirth, but her father was very adamant that it wasn't Betty's fault, and only told her what happened specifically when she was in her teen years (Betty knew her mother died in childbirth, but didn't know specifics or wanted to talk about it much until she was in her mid teens)

-as a result, however, she was very scared of childbirth and only had one biological child, Lily Sprout. Her other 4 children are either step-children or adopted (I imagine 2 are from her partner, and 2 were adopted in their early teens from a friend that died)

Changed up the hair just a little bit, and made the outline a bit lighter, cause the stark black just didn’t look right.

Personality: quiet, blunt, smart, polite, sarcastic, and nice once you get to know her.

Likes: cats, silence, the colors black and red, reading, tea, close friends, and art.

Dislikes: dogs, loud ponies, rude ponies,math, loneliness, the color pink, and bugs.

Extra facts: Neither parents have her art skills. Her parents are divorced.She also has a weird obsession with inflicting pain on herself. She is a bit of a nerd for poetry. Finally, besides her,only her aunt and father have that kind of tail.
