Memorable Moments in My Tutoring Career

I'm gonna start putting some of the stuff I see while tutoring here, bc it's too funny NOT to be shared. Plus I want a record. >:)

1) Got a kid today who just needed help spelling a word. Took me a minute to figure out what word exactly, but I did. It was "curious". As he left, he said "your a livsabr".

Livsabr. LIVSABR. Bless his heart.

2) Was reading this lady's art essay and she was talking about a cherished memory of hers from a few years ago where she got to hold her husband's hand. Then she just ends the paragraph/memory with: "This is a special memory for me because I know it will never happen again."

Naturally I'm like 'oh he's dead then-'

And then I read the next sentence: "He is an amputee." That's it. No context, no explanation.

LIKE? Lady WHAT. You mean to tell me he somehow lost both hands??? You're both like barely elderly, how tf he lose both hands? And you're just gonna leave the paragraph there? No context, no transition huh??
