5! :-)
5: Talk about the best birthday you've had.
Last year, I turned 18 and in filipino tradition, a girl usually holds a debut to celebrate her “coming of age” with her family. Ever since I attended my cousin’s debut when I was young, all I every dreamed of was having a debut and sharing that experience with my family. I sort of knew that I wasn’t going to have one 6 months prior to my birthday because usually it takes a lot of planning to have a debut. Nevertheless, instead of disappointment, I understood that even though my parents wanted to give me a debut, we weren’t able to afford it. Even though I wasn’t able to have the 18th birthday party like I imagined, I would say my 18th birthday is one of my best ones, because my parents did everything in their capability to make it the best. My brother used his money to buy me a macbook, and my friend Karen sent over cute stationary + more as a birthday gift. For some reason I felt so content with the small birthday celebration! Even though I didn’t get a ton of cakes that day like Joshua, i guess you can say I was given some peace of mind because my family was there, healthy as they can be, and I was surrounded by people who love and care for me! Not to mention that plenty of people greeted me happy birthday here :’) which made it better!
