陌上花开 or Mo Flower is such a cute little story. I usually avoid danmei with emperor ML x subordinate MC because they're usually angsty and dog-blooded but this one is so sweet. Still the power imbalance is there but ML is so very considerate. MC is a very cute, sleepy salted fish type who's by no means stupid, he's mostly too lazy to think lol.
#mo flower#sometimes i go thru NU tag and found some unexpectedly delightful old danmeis to read#nice and short#i like how the story was structured#part reminiscent part present situations#there are something i dislike which is the mc's family remarks but thankfully they don't appear much#translation is a bit rough but i can understand the story quite well#but very nice footnotes i love to learn new chinese idioms and proverbs#also i'm gravitating to danmei with ordinary looking MC right now i'm pretty oversaturated with beautiful MC#would appreciate ones with both ordinary looking MLs and MCs too
