It's incredible how concepts can change from one day to another, from one second to another. You could say you were a good person, with the average concept of moral, did all you could to make people around you happy and, for sure, you weren't in the same side as the bad guys.
That didn't change too much, except for the last part. Bad didn't sound like the right word to describe Tom, but surely good wasn't the one either. He couldn't be all good, doing what he did for a living. Being a mob didn't have to do only with illegal dealings, but also meant being ok with hurting people from time to time.
You weren't up with the idea of seeing anyone hurt, but you ignored that. You just couldn't help the love you felt for Tom.
He was charming, handsome, powerful. And though power comes with the costs of hurting another one, you'd be lying if said you didn't get turned on just by the things he could get by the mere turn of a hand, or by adding a serious expression to his features.
And it wasn't really your fault. Though you knew everything that could happen behind scenes, Tom didn't look like a dangerous person when he was alone with you. He could be very caring, loving, a passionate man. He did wonderful things with you and with your body, treating you like a queen, and he sure did want you to feel like one. His queen.
"You like it?" He asks as he puts the diamond necklace around your neck, his fingertips lingering over your skin. It shines, bright as his eyes, looking directly at you through the mirror you were in front of.
It felt all too much. The necklace was certainly expensive. His scent was filing up your senses and you felt dizzy just by the thought of Tom waiting for an answer, wanting to make you feel appreciated with his gift.
You press your fingers softly against the material of the necklace, feeling the weight of It, not only physically, but for the meaning of wearing such an imposing object.
"It's... woah. I don't even know what to say, Tom" you lost your words, admiring how the jewelry matches the color of your skin, the way your collarbone got accentuated by it.
Tom smiled, pressing a kiss to your neck so softly you had to sigh to release the tension that seemed to cover your lungs.
"I think you're glorious, love". He whispered against your skin. "The most beautiful woman in the world".
"Well, this necklace surely could make any woman glow" you said in a wondering tone.
Tom touched your chin with two fingers, turning your head to face him. "That's not true. You see, not everyone can wear such a precious thing and not get their beauty lost in the pomposity of a jewel. But with you, darling, it just makes more eyes turn to you, to see what a stunning woman you are. It's not the necklace, trust me".
You smiled softly, still unsure if you had the look to wear something like that. Tom held your waist firmly, looking right into the mirror.
"Love how we look together. Don't you?" He sighs and closes his eyes for a brief moment. "You're my perfect queen".
You turned around to face him, putting your arms around his neck, and smiled playfully.
"I still don't know what this is all for. It's not my birthday or anything".
Tom lifts his hand to put a lock of your hair behind your ear.
"You should be celebrated, darling, and not only on your birthday". He shrugged it off as it was an obvious statement. "But the real important question here is... did you like it?"
You chuckle. "How could I not like it, Tom? It's perfect". You see his smile grow, as he pecked your lips, his index finger and thumb holding your chin. "But I still think it's just too much. It clearly has a big value and I don't think you should buy me these things for nothing-"
"Shhh". He frowned, touching your forehead with his. "It's not for nothing, y/n. I love you, and if there's a single reason for all this fucking money for me, it's to make my love happy. You can only not accept something if it's not of your liking, but never for feeling that's not for you". He runs his hand from your neck to the back of it, intertwining his fingers with locks of your hair softly. "You deserve way more than just a necklace. You deserve the world, darling, and if there's anything on my reach that you'd like, then it's yours".
You smile sheepishly, bringing a hand to the necklace once more and feeling your cheek getting a light blush.
"Thank you, Tom".
"Anytime, love". He winked and leaned in to kiss you passionately. When the two of you separated, Tom smirked. "Now, what about some fancy dinner, uh? Wanna show off my pretty girl tonight".
