Since I’ve seen a few of these hovering around, here’s my 2017 Art Summary.

Started off with Sonic and Robot Wars, then fell into Yu-Gi-Oh! and Prideshipping hell and have not looked back.

I had this urge to draw Chaos 2, both the robot and my Sonicized version. So here we are. 

Everyone should know who Chaos 2 belongs to.

Heck of a lot of MR Sketches

Like the title says. I’ve gotten back into Robot Wars lately after re-watching Apollo’s 2016 victory (Fact: Team MAD, who built Apollo, are also responsible for the Kronic series - which is named after the blue blur Sonic himself!). And then I went and watched the Ultimate Warriors Collection - Chaos 2, Hypno-Disc, Razer and the House Robots all got one after all! 

So doodles just came out of nowhere. Most of them are my Mobianized take on what happened during the wars. And all of ‘em have Chaos 2 in ‘em ‘cause I’ve been developing his MR story.

First up are some full body sketches of Chaos 2 and some expressions. That smug look is actually inspired by the Mii version in my Tomodachi Life game.

Next is the first meeting with Dantomkia, and this reflects what happened in Series 6. Afterwards is a family photo with Robot the Bruce (left), Chaos 2 (middle) and Chaos 1 (right).

Then there is a sketch I didn’t submit to dA; this one is based around the First World Championships. Chaos 2 met Razer in this competition and Razer came out on top, using his crushing gloves to inflict horrific injuries to Chaos 2′s back. Razer visited the UK Champion later that day, where Chaos 2 said he was fine and that he’d recover nicely. What he didn’t tell his friend, however, was that he’d struck a nerve near the spine and that made future ‘self-righting’ attempts a lot more difficult ... (Yep, I gave Chaos 2 an internal injury to refer to the robot’s diminishing performance in later series)

Now the big two. Hypno-Disc VS Chaos 2 in the Series 3 Grand Final. There’s a VS screen and then the lucky hit for Chaos 2. I think I’ll finish the last sketch, but I must remember to flip it as the robots are the wrong way round. If you noticed, Hypno-Disc has different armour to that in his little ref sheet. This is my take on his Series 3 design; after the battle he changed it a little to what it is today. And of course Chaos 2 remains the same.
