MoboMarket is an app store from MoboRobo which is popular for their all-in-one management tool of the same name. The UI is quite similar to the Google Play store, and if that makes you wonder why you might need it, then the answer is that it is not just an app store, it also comes pre-loaded with handful of tools for better working of your smartphone such as RAM Booster, Start-up manager etc.
MoboMarket can be downloaded directly for free here. The app will have to be sideloaded onto your device, but you can use MoboRobo’s all-in-one management tool to get the job done and install it for you.
As mentioned above, MoboMarket is quite similar to Google Play Store in terms of UI. In addition to Hot, Featured and Latest tabs, there are navigation buttons down at the bottom of the app that can navigate you to the Focus, Apps, Games, Custom, and General sections.
We think, the fact that every option is on home screen makes it a very easy and convenient app to use. It does this without making the UI look or feel clustered. The top left corner has a menu button which will give access to the free tools that come with the app such as RAM Booster, Startup Optimizer, Android Cleaner etc.
MoboMarket also has a custom tab which is filled with Mobo custom themes and all kinds of wallpapers, with plethora of categories like games, food, design, summer, and funny just to name off a few. Since there’s a built-in app manager included with MoboMarket, updating or uninstalling existing apps is easy and can be done right from within the app itself. This will surely come in handy if you decide to use MoboMarket as your default app store.
Well, MoboMarket claims that it has tons of apps and games to download and install, however, we couldn’t find most of our favorite apps apart from Smash Hit. It isn’t hosted by Google Play, so you’ll need a third-party installer to make it work. It seems like this marketplace exists to host apps that wouldn’t be approved by Google, so there are some adult apps to be found here, too. There are plenty of familiar apps that top the Google Play charts, as well, but some of them aren’t real apps. It is worth mentioning the app’s interface is easy to navigate and without complications. One thing we found missing in the app was that it didn’t mention whether or not the app has in-App purchases. Also, there are no user ratings in the app making it difficult to judge whether the app is genuine or not.
The market also gives you added features to customize your phone, it is great for folks who want a unique UI experience. Using the free MoboLive launcher you can get multiple themes option for your phone. The themes too are free to download and come in wide varieties for folks with varied tastes. This is the bit that is lacking from the Google Play store and can be a plus for MoboMarket. The only issue we found here is that to you have to download the MoboLive launcher to get the themes working, but considering the huge library it offers, you’ll be alright with that extra logo staring at you in the app drawer.
MoboMarket is an interesting third-party Android app marketplace with plenty of apps you won’t find on Google Play. It does require you to double-check before downloading, as there are lots of duplicates of Google’s Play Store offering and several questionable apps that seem to do more harm than good. Still if you are looking for an alternative for Google Play Store, this app will surely come handy. We also loved the themes and customizability options provided by the app. Being a free app store, there are no monetary transactions here. Thumbs up for the user interface, however, the only concern I have is the authenticity of the apps being downloaded as the marketplace lacks user reviews and ratings.
